Why Is Cultus So Heat Sensitive?

Everything works fine after the headgasket work and all of a sudden radiator throws water to reservoir bottle resulting in low water in radiator and heating.

Why on earth is cultus so difficult to tame?

Sell it, upgrade. Go for margalla or anything close to your range. Go for civic 2000 or 2001 or 3. But go for manual. Auto one will drink alot of fuel

i have kept Cultus efi and owns a Baleno now (same G series engine). i must admit that the G series engine is a tough nut to crack. it doesnt get heated up that easily. i wonder what will you say if you own any jdm car with fragile engines

Was hearing negative views about how it heats up and everything, I brushed it off as I thought it might be because their coolant system was compromised but now that I am experiencing it myself I am cent percent sure that if you got lucky you wouldnt have any problem otherwise these rumors of cultus being heat sensitive is very true (it usually becomes excessively heat sensitive after some engine work has done to it) if you are lucky you will have an amazing work horse if not be prepared for constant workshop visits.

can you please explain what exactly is happening to your car, and what remedies you've already tried on it ?
We have a Cultus EFI since 2007 and it is quite a workhorse i must say.

Its headgasket was compromised (wasnt completely blown but throwing out bubbles and building radiator pressure on startup).
Work Done: New Piston rings, Valves, Valve Seals (though only valves and valve seals were needed fixing but upon mechanics suggestion I replaced pistons rings too) Head faced. New radiator, replaced all metal pipes (coolant). Changed radiator cap several times. There is no Thermo Valve. My car throws water to reservoir bottle and since radiator is left with low water it starts to heat up on long drives. In city you wouldn't notice anything unless you drive it for very long. This and other heat up issues is very common with cultus users.

problem is not cultus , problem is your mechanics. greedy and cheap. go to a good one and you wont find any issue. Alhamdulilah i go to good one (suzuki 3s) and never faced such issue. routine maintenance is key. use coolant. try to use genuine parts rather than cheap ones.

bhai kisi aor achhi workshop per lay kar jayn gari ko.
are you sure head gasket work was done properly. it should not throw water out of reservoir ..
cooling system main kahin minor sa leak bhi ho sakta hai jiski waja se gari pani bahar nikal rahi hai ... poora system pressure test karwayen...even the heater core..

i had same issue with our car , it was throwing water out from reservoir and when we used to switch it off there was a gurgling sound when it used to cool down..
got radiator serviced, there was a minor leak in the lower pan of radiator, fixed that, changed radiator cap.. Car is doing fine now Alhamdulillah, no water reduction, no heat up etc.

Everyone is taken liberty to do all the mechanical work they can but I am sure none of them have bled the cooling system off of air...

By now, facing would probably have rendered your car's head useless. There is a limit to how much you can face an engines head before it has to be replaced with a good one.

It's an excellent engine. The "rumours" are due to the fact that most Suzuki owners tend to fill the cooling system with tapwater, which causes serious problems in the long run.

Have the anti-freeze plugs been replaced (called tikkian in desi language)? They are a major failure point in G engines that have been abused by tap water.

Its properly bled and I am kind of expert now on how to bleed it myself thats not an issue at all.

I would agree but almost all the local mechanics I met are of the opinion that cultus is heat sensitive.

Can you upload pic of these tikkian or point out the place where they are located?

The reason for the car seems a leakage somewhere since the same happened to my car.

My head gasket was fine, had changed the pipes, new radiator, fan checked, radiator cap changed, had undergone compression testing but still culprit was not found.

Ultimately it turned out to be slightly loose temperature sensor from where water was leaking upon high temp and pressure.

Thanks to my mechanic who gave attention and was not in a hurry to just simply open the head.

My advice: check every joint, every pipe, radiator, water pump, for leakage. If done already, do it again but this time if needed replace clogged pipe etc.

Already done that several times as a matter of fact its my routine to check for any leakage cold or hot (have burnt hand several times). It does not seem to be the leakage although I know very well some leakages are really hard to find as they only happen when system is pressurized unfortunately we dont have anyone who has a pressure tool to test cooling system leakages.

Anyways head work was redone and car seems to not throw water on reservoir bottle anymore but I have to take it for a long high speed run to be 100% sure.

Well let me tell you what actually happened. While assembling engine back, mechanic didn't apply proper torque that caused the head to bent and gasket has started leaking again. This issue is common in Pakistan. Idiot mechanics use their full body strength to tighten the nuts plus don't tighten nuts in a proper sequence as mentioned in manual. Ultimately gasket develops leak.

All aluminum engines are heat sensitive since aluminum has low melting temperature and they warp easily if temperature increases to boiling point of water. Gone are the days when complete engines made from iron were put in vehicles and nothing would happen to them if engine repeatedly overheated. They were extremely heavy too so required solid chassis unlike today's cars.

I am aware of that and really surprised our mechanics don't use torque wrench. I do not question as none of the local mechanics have it also they must have disassembled and assembled infinite numbers of engine and their body strength and andaza must be working for them . Whats done is done lets hope for the best.
