Why is Wagon R discontinued

Wagon R booking has stopped and there is news that it is discontinued now...What impact it has created for present owners?
Is market value more up or gone down ?

It'll obviously go down and in couple of years you'll barely see it on roads.
Every vehicle suzuki discontinues it somehow vanishes from the roads too.

wagonR is a car which was sold in abundance for more than 5 years in its 10 year life span. forget it being vanished from roads. we are still having khybers and margallas running in abundance although they were not sold in this much abundance.

khyber and margalla not sold in abundance? - I think you were either a child at that time or not paying attention, every 3rd car on any road in Pakistan in their heyday was either a khyber or margalla, literally were like mosquitoes and flies.

In the late 90s khyber was hot item to steal in khi as it was pretty decently quick for its time, and if you showed up to police station for report - every other stolen car was a white khyber - good luck detecting it.

margalla was hot item for mqm era attacks, it was very quick for its size, turned very nicely and seated 4 with weapons in the trunk, all of the stolen ones were white too. Good luck finding it, its like trying to find a "red" cd70 - yeah good luck

Boss I guess the person here is talking numbers. Total khybers (locally manufactured) sold were 51k or a closer numbers in total between 1989/90 and 2000. Don't recall the numbers for margalla.

WagonR were sold in much much higher numbers than khybers or Margallas.

Yeah, the only new cars sold in the early-mid 90s were Mehran, Khyber. Margalla, 2 variants of Corolla and 1 variant of Civic, and the Kia Pride. That is all the new cars sold!

Everyone and their khalu phupa had Khybers and Margallas, our 95 was stolen at gun point from my dad in 1996 at Bahadurabad, was later recovered with a missing quarter glass (supposedly taken out to do a drive-by).

Those numbers dont look right, Just khi excise had more than 15K private registered ones back in the mid 90s, when the plate Z and AB were being issued.. by that rationale all khybers sold in khi.

It doesn't include the imported ones. At least the recent numbers 2010 onwards are correct for sure, I know

Does this list only speak of the units that were fully Pakistan made? It was either 93 or 94 when that cutoff happened.

Because PS sold a butt ton of khybers in 1991 and 1992, literally damn massive fleets of white khybers were offloaded to almost all the pharma and other manufacturers sector in SITE, literally thousands of them.

Not i am not very sure though, but I recall that I saw the data from 1990 or something last I visited that website for the purpose.
But I just did again, and the file they have shows data from 1995.

May be my memory is wrong and I was simply interpolating the data from 1996-2000 to 1990-2000. If you add 1996-00, total khybers produced were 28k something.

i believe you have not been in karachi after the 90s. i agree to your stance, however, they were hot cakes in their times only when the cars sold were very very very few as compared to what started selling afterwards. you need to visit karachi now and see yourself how many wagonRs are seen now. the number of units sold are way different

PakSuzuki had almost no sales of WagonR and it was in the market for almost 12 years without any changes at all.

Chances are Paksuzuki will replace it with the newer WagonR or maybe another 660cc car. They wont leave the market open for Picanto becasue Alto at 3 million and Cultus and 4.3 Million a huge gap exists.

Wagonr in Pakistan was sold in INdia and indonesia only. the newer Wagonr is in INDIA only so Paksuzuki would be skeptical to lauch it in Pakistan.

For now, nothing is coming as replacement very urgently.

Down, new alto will be launched ~ on. Wagon R won't vanish from the roads anytime soon, alot of indrive and yango drivers use it.

if you cannot understand that population of Karachi was under 1.5million in 90s and it was over 30 million later on then i don't know who can help you out. btw i have been living in Karachi each day and night since nearly 4decades so i can surely say you are still having that 1990s wala old vintage Karachi in your Einstein mind. good luck with the perception of knowing everything! peace ️

Even Suzuki FX's sometimes appear on the roads in Karachi, I once even happened to see one with a round headlights recently.
The only Suzuki car I have never seen appeared on the road yet is Fronte 7-S (Custom Car).
