Why no Hondas in Cabs/Rent-a-cars?

I have hired a Honda Civic for travel between Islamabad-Peshawar many times.

I know a friend whose company has provided him a city from local rent a car.

Why we demean cabs, are these something harmful for the society?

In Italy, I rode mostly Mercedez cabs, does it make Merc a mean car?

^^^ I agree with the above. This thread should not be to bash Honda. Toyotas are more popular among the taxi trade, relative to Honda. As far as Mercs et al, even star hotels in Dhaka offer Merc and other high end cars for high end guests. That doesn't mean anything.

@nickatnite, autophile: Not demeaning Taxi's, as I said upfront they are doing a great job and are hence very popular with the public. Also, they are a real test-drive for the vehicles as they work in extreme conditions.

Cab owners are not stupid people, they have to make profit, that is why they choose their vehicles very carefully.

The conclusion so far is....Hondas are delicate cars not meant for rough or heavy use.

And nobody here is jealous of Hondas, we all know they are good cars otherwise, if kept and driven carefully.

honda cannot bear the tough conditions and the difficulties that of a taxi while toyota is build to endure these conditions. U can't even take a honda civic or city in interior because of the rough conditions.

I am a auditor and often use rent a car. My conclusion i drawn from the discussion with various drivers is

1. As most of the people here in Pakistan thinks that Toyota is the best, so the rent a car companies keep mostly Toyotas coz most of the customers ask for Toyotas. This is the customer side.

2. The drivers told me as they have to travel in different regions including villages and on bad tracks, their "Malikaan" prefer Toyota bcoz its a tough car (comfort doesn't matter) and has a good resale so that they can change the car every 2-3 year.
