This trend comes from the fact that many selling cars in our market are ready to scam people by selling them accidental cars at the price of non accidental. Another problem is that many times people cheap out and go for low quality repairs to save money from roadside mechanics who are not skilled enough to carry them out properly.
Now this does not mean that it should be a dealership maintained vehicle as even in that case the car can be ruined. An example is the stupidity of Indus motors using 20W50 oil instead of the recommended 5W30 grade oil (lighter and better)
Another thing is that the quality of paintjobs are also not great and you can end up with rust issues in no time if the paint comes off. Speaking from my experience if the work is done upto the mark and the engine is swapped with a good assembly then it should not be a major concern when buying a used vehicle.
Lastly, would highly suggest you go for a corolla as they are very rugged and comfortable. If well maintained they can easily run 300k kilometers and the airconditioning and seat cushioning is the best imo.
