So I had my car compound polished but before polishing he roughed it with A1000 sandpaper (I think) he also used the same on windshield which now has these tiny scratches which appears when headlights of other cars hits the windshield from the front. The guy said that these scratches revealed themselves after polishing, they were covered with dust and debris hence they weren't visible before. I am not sure whether they appeared with sandpaper or were there before. Some of the scratches appears to be vipers caused but others I'm not so sure, feels like they're caused by rubbing of the sandpaper. Anyhow the damage is now done so what is the best way to overcome it?
I read about buffing here and there on Google and now I'm not so sure if it's a good idea as I don't wanna make things worse. I read that if it's not done right, it can cause distortion in the windscreen. That wavy ripply feel when you look through the windshield and I absolutely don't want that.
The guy who I suspect to have actually caused the scratches says that polishing the windshield will dim the scratches.
What should I do?
Honda Civic 2008 and Toyota Fielder 2007. Both the cars were done by the same guy and both have same scratches on windshield.
Scratches are not deep. Can't be felt with nails except for very few which can be felt but 90% can only be seen and that too with difficulty in daylight. Problem is caused at night with headlights coming through which affects vision.
