Will condenser size decrease ac cooling

Hi,

I have nissan march 1997. Few weeks back, I changed its radiator and ac condenser due to leakage. It was in winters. Now, in summers, its ac does not work very well. The guy from shershah gave me the radiator and condenser of 1000c imported wagon r for fitting. Its condenser size is half of what nissan's used to be. So, will changing the condenser to a bigger or original size fix the cooling problem in summers?

Get brand new multiflow condenser of koolmate brand.It,s cooling js is better.Which compressor r u using?

Condensers and radiators cool refrigerants and coolants using air sucked in from the front of the car. The air passes in as the car is in forward motion. Fans help suck in the air too. The more air that hits the radiator/condenser, the better the cooling.

With the half condenser, only half the surface area is available for airflow and hence significantly reduced cooling.

Ok. Can you tell me where I can get new condenser in Karachi. I am not sure about the compressor, I tried to check it .Also, any good ac person for the fitting etc

That makes sense. So, apart from the condenser change, should I add an extra fan so that the will cover the area which the radiator is not covering?

Sorry but thats the mistake on my behalf. The shopkeeper said that it was ok to alter the radiator and condenser, so I sort of trusted him

Go find the original parts and install them, the condenser and evaporator are a matched set, in your case you have very little liquid volume compared to vapour volume.

Nothing else will help, and also find a good ac tech fhat owns a real vacuum pump and scales. Dont let them guess the charge or try to adjust the charge just by looking at pressure

So it means if I change serpentine condenser of corolla ae92 to multi flow condenser then I also have to change it's evaporator?

ae92 came equipped with serpentine evaporator only. If you change condenser to multiflow type then make sure its about the same size as the old one and it has manifold tanks too. This will keep the system balanced.

Also make sure the AC mechanic knows how to install a T shape expansion valve correctly and also how to insulate it correctly. The performance of it is highly dependant on its installation - the sensing bulb has a certain orientation/clocking of it relative to the suction line to sense the correct temperature of the discharging refrigerant from the evaporator. Placing it too low or too high is bad.

The serpentine evaporator came with all ae92's or it's region specific? I mean may be only regions with hot climate came with serpentine evaporators.

How can I check the new multiflow condenser if it has the same size as the old one? Isn't all multiflow condensers have manifold tanks?

Why I need to change the T shape expansion valve? Is it in the evaporator?

I think this task is beyond your scope. Study it a bit then make your decision on how to make it work or get it worked on (meaning be informed so you can measure the workmanship being recieved)

The expansion valve is T shaped in your car rather than the H shaped one used on modern corollas. Installing the H shape requires no skill, T shape requires brains and skill, make sure mechanic understands such.

Forgetting to insulate the T shaped valve will result in bad working, same with installing its sensing bulb wrong.

I got your point. So your suggestion is it's better to keep using serpentine condenser rather than all this hassle?
I only have to change T expansion valve if I will change condenser?
