Will i be fine wearing shorts in Pakistan (Lahore)?

I am coming to Pakistan (Lahore exactly) very soon on Month long tour. Just wanted to get some info before regarding what to wear. I am used to and comfortable in wearing shorts with a T shirt. is this dress considered offensive in Pakistan?

its not a crime anywhere......... the people who say kai peshawar mai shorts is kinda dangerous, at least confirm what ur saying before talking about such things.....

I myself dress the same way in peshawar as i do in islamabad or lahore. U are not in danger from anyone xept the ones who will abduct you for ransom or whateva (and those kinda people can be found everywhere).... and for that v just gotta keep a low profile

Those who had the experience of being eye-balled at wearing shorts...... bad luck cuz iv seen those same kinda people everywhere. And most of us are grown men so its not like v should feel uneasy about what vr wearing

it is just on occasions, funeral, villages that v havto to consider what vr wearing.

To th OPs question, sir went to lahore last week, yes u can wear shorts if u intend on staying inside the house, car or malss etc. Outside not a good idea cuz it was freezing and conditions of lahore atm are not very good due to the fog.

no its not illegal... just that it doesnt gel well with the conservative culture there (Bannu i mean). Everyone wears shalwar qameez. Except police, army, students uniform and medical reps/salesmen ,you will hardly find anyone in trousers lets alone shorts. Hence one feels and looks a clown if wears shorts. As they say "jesa dess, wesa bhess"

In peshawar, its more like any other urban center in Pakistan... there i myself have used shorts as my informal uniform, the way i use it here in twin-city

It all depends where you live. In some areas it a possibility some people take it a bit offensive especially if you walk around for a long time or chat on the street corners. In posh areas you might not get a second look. You can walk around without prob in modern shopping spots without a lil concern but such dresses are regarded as a easy and healthy target for criminals..i guess. Hide a licensed 9mm under your shorts then you are safe

If you can wear shorts in jeddah then you can wear shorts in lahore too. If you don't feel shame roaming around half naked then it doesn't matter in which city you're.
