its highly recommended that you install WIndows 8 Consumer Preview on a secondary machine..!! coz it will have bugs as its a beta version..!!

Its a great treat for people who doesn't have used Windows 8 Developers Preview..!!

will be testing it in a few days! yes its a trial version to BEWARE of errors and applications when they suddenly stop responding as SULEMANMIRZA suggested try this OS on your non-production computer!

I am aware of the potential bugs n stuff . But i donot have a spare machine . I was thinking of dual booting this with my Win7 laptop .

Windows 8 has a new feature "Windows to go" (if I am remembering right) that basically allows you to install Windows 8 on a USB media (flash or hard disk); so you dont have to multi-boot your system and can try it out without any worries...

But what i understand from this article, is u can INSTALL windows 8 preview using USB drive, instead of making bootable DVDs and stuff, u can make your USB bootable,

correct me if i am wrong..!!

Windows To Go - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia is the Wikipedia article on this feature. I watched one of the Build session where they showcased this feature...I thought the Consumer Preview might have it; but it seems like they have not yet "released it"

I have windows 7 installed in my system with 1.5GB RAM, 2.8Ghz Processor but... 40GB HDD my 120GB slave HDD is taking its last breath so, i can't check out windows 8 consumer preview... sad!

downloaded the whole image of 2.5 gb and burned it ...after booting the only menu i got was windows recovery tools ... whatever key i pressed it said contact ur administrator ... now trying with usb drive ..lets see what happens ....damn u windows ..

finally managed to install it via usb ..... so far so good ... interface is same as windows mobile a.k.a metro ui ... so far didn't encounter any bug or error during software installation and usage ... looks snappy ...

task manager is more advanced now ...

say goodbye to old start button serving since windows 95 ... metro UI menu is here ...

good old game ...

Audio,video drivers can be install in this by the original Cd's given with desktop Pc...??

Well bro u hv to activate the windows online..... code is mention on download page and the expiration date is 13 january 2013...so everyone feel free to install it.... and yes windows 7drivers will work on it for sure as my sound card was not working after installation .... I installed the windows 7 driver and now it works perfectly...

^if u hv windows 7 drivers in it then u r good to go or u can download them...btw mostly hardware in windows 7/8 get installed automatically.....
