Windscreen cleaning with chemical advisable or not.?

Hello PW! My car windcreen has some scratches and JALA (common word used by local mechanics) on it as the car is 6-7 years old.
What is JALA ? a thin layer of sludge which open appears as purplish or violet or rainbow like reflection in sunlight.

some days back i went to Montgomery road Lahore and a guy asked me to get the windscreen cleaned with a chemical, he showed me a sample and after applying the sample the area was free of colored haze but there was no obvious difference in visibility even at night.

I wanna ask is it good to get the screen cleaned with that chemical. I dnt know hat is it. Does any body know what chemical is it. I asked the guy what is it, he said its called dopole type of a thing. but there is no such thig found as i searched on internet

Go to an esprit dealership. Google their name "esprit" for location. I had some amazing results here in Karachi. Will cost you 1000-1200.

dont know the chemical name but i tried that thing on my city and the screen was clear as new ... by the way i live in karachi and its very common here guy charged me 250 Rs and did that chemical thing with machine

i can clean ur windscreen with a clay bar, it might fix problem

Doing stuff yourself is not advised unless you know what you're doing. Take my advice and find an esprit dealer. They have an imported kit and the right buffer for the job. I had my screen cleaned after 10 years. I was thinking of changing my windscreen but saw their ad. Took 2 attempts but visibility is great now. No more discoloration, sludge or spider webs. Definitely worth the spend.

i can clean ur windscreen with a clay bar, it might fix problem

Clay bars can't buff scratches the way you'd want them to. Cleaning up your clear coat is one thing; you'd have to be pretty experienced at it to clean up a windscreen.

i have done it numerous times, its easier than doing paint, i feel that his problem is caused due to some contaminant on the wind screen, i may be wrong, but there is no harm in giving it a shot, it wont remove the scratches but will clean well

try any lemon dish washing liquid 100 ml + 10 ml bleach scrub wind screen with care leave to dry then wipe clean with warm water soaked soft cloth wash later. try few times see any improvement & report to forum.

CARE - DO NOT splash the mixture bleach content will leave spots on paint.

the FRONT glass screens SAFETY glasses - multiple layered laminated glass that is the reason on impact it stays in frame and become web driver & passenger are not hurt. Over passage of time dry running of wiper or water in bottle leave wiper tracks. Never use wiper on dry screen. Add some liquid soap in screen washer bottle for lubricated cleaning.

For regular use, add a sachet of car shampoo to your windshield fluid.

The absolute best way to clean a windshield is with a blade, get one that is used in stanley knives, treet blade will cut your fingers as it has blades on both sides. use some slippery soap that wont roll off, spritz the glass and scrape away on the screen with the blade at a very shallow angle - you will see it remove stuff stuck to it, if you have water spots on the screen, then you can use a solution of some mild acid and a 3m green scrubbing pad - and scrub the glass, you can also use fine steel wool to clean glass, Glass is very hard and does not get scratched easily.

btw i noticed there is no visibility difference with these jaala from inside but it sure looks ugly on outside :mad:

kick yourself for using wipers on dry glass and also for not changing wiper blades on time.. The only real way of correcting those is to replace the glass.

i dont use wiper on dry glass n i changed the wipers when i got the car,these marks were already there when i bought the car

try to use a solution of vinegar and water, mix it in spray bottle, and then wipe it with akhbaar e!
