Assalamu Alaikum.
This winter I missed many treks due to tough schedules. And now I was seriously looking for any hardcore winter trek to fill the gap. In the start of February I was planning for Musa ka Musalla but due to past couple of days’ snow falling, everyone advised me not to attempt 4000m in massive fresh snow. (Now MKM will be planned in late March Insha Allah).
So the last option for me was “MUKSHPURI TOP” and “MEERANJANI TOP”. I was expecting it a simple winter trek but due to heavy snow fall in past days and some other circumstances made it a winter survival (I will explain it later).

2- Imran Arshad @imarshad
3- M. Usman Ahmad @usman126
4- Nadir Khan (FB: https://www.facebook.com/nadir.khan.180 )
TOUR PLAN:
Day 1:
We four members had to start trek from Dunga gali side. Night stay was planned on mukshpuri top.
Day 2:
Had to return back early morning from top and join the others members for meeranjani trek.
New members for Meeranjani trek:
Muhammad Rashid @emmaar
Nihaal @(Rashid bhai’s son)
Shahbaz zain @shahbazzain
EXECUTION:
We encountered with the soft snow on the trek and at some points we were deep up to waist level. Due to this situation and the overnight snow fall during the night stay on top, we could not managed to descend in early morning hence dropped the Meeranjani trek from the plan, though the next day was sunny and pleasant. Although Rashid’s team successfully did the next day’s trek.
SNOW TREK TURNED INTO WINTER SURVIVAL:
Reasons:
• Unexpected level of snow.
• Continuous snow fall during most of the trek in day 1.
• No guide/porters. We picked all our luggage including camps with ourselves.
• We survived with 1 bottle of water for one day and night.
• We lost our matches during night cooking. Matches was covered with fresh snow and we could not find it :).
The complete story will be posted in next episodes. Stay tuned
