Wobbling at speed 10 to 40 KPH

Dear Brothers,

I have a peculiar issue in my 2017 City Prosmatic. It's 7500 KM done and feeling little wobbling at speed near to 10 to 20 KPH and again at near 40 KPH. I have done the wheel balancing recently in order to overcome this issue but for no good. This wobbling is more prominent with A/C on. What could be the issue? is it because of Tyres (Stock One) or any other reason?

One more seems to be an issue as when I start the car in the morning, the RPM keeps on 1200 in idle for about 5 min until the engine got warm.

Need your expert advice and comments.

Cold start up rpm is fine, but i think you drive in very low RPMs, maybe to conserve fuel. Keep ur car above 1500 rpm and for fuel saving, keep it at 2000 rpm. I do that to my 2017 GLI, i get 13.8 kml in city with no Ac

Thanks Daniyal, yes I tried to drive with a soft foot , keeping the RPM as low as possible.

City has auto choke which is why on cold start it's rpm is high
For wobbling did you also checked alignment with balancing ?
If alignment is also fine then visit your trustworthy dealership.

My 2017 Gli ges fromm 100, to 1300 to 1200 rpm in cold start. Have you tried driving on 2000 rpm?

Today I visited Honda Qaideen Karachi to have a look at the issue of wobbling. The road tester person said this issue is with every city and he showed me 2 cars having the same issue.

The car was wobbling if I put the gear in D and let the car go by itself, without pressing the gas pedal. Although those 2 cars have issue less than my car but it was there.

Any one of you ever felt the same.

Change your tyres, issue will be resolved. Dealers will never admit as then they have to change them in warranty.

Low speed wobbling can occur due to an issue in tyre tread or a bent rim. If you feel no wobble at speed of 100km/h than it’s definitely a tyre.

@arif_siddiqi wobbling/vibrations during acceleration esp at low speeds is mostly due to bad inner CV joints (the gearbox side). did your car hit any big jump/main hole etc? but its the worst case scenerio - new tyres will not wobble this early no matter if they are local or top of the line ones. check your inner axles (the RHS) for a torn boot or bad axle.

Yes, if this issue is within 10-40 kmph then there is 90% chance that your issue will be resolved by changing tires. Get it checked before purchasing by asking the tire shop to allow you a trial.

Its most probably the tyres. Take it to any 2-3 tyre shops and ask them to check if these tyres are out of shape. Normally the car wobbles at low speed or high speeds due to tyres deformation.

Same problem with my 1.3 honda city 2016 model manual transmission, 24k done on stock Tyres.

This balancing/wobbling issue arises due to manufacturing fault of tyres or due to damaged tyres. Have seen many cases where issue was resolved when new tyres were installed (even of the same company).
