Woodwork Tools?

I am looking for DIY carpenter tools, including sander, planner, circular saw, drills, hole saw etc.

which brand to go for? is there any shop/store other then boltan mkt shops selling china?

i saw black n Decker circular saw, it was Chinese made and was crap !

Dear Karachi is a big market of USED Japanies tools, like Makita, metabo, etc..........
or American Dewalt

If you need branded and just basic tools then go to metro hardware/tools section and if you are looking for any specific tools then bori bazar saddar is where you should be looking at.

If you are looking for tools for professional use then try to get Dewalt, Hilti or Makita. They will cost more than twice as much as a B&D. Dewlat dealers are available in Lahore, I don't know about Karachi. Ask Metro khi about authorized dealer For Hilti check out this link http://www.panasiangroup.com/hpl-contact. Black & Decker brand is not what it used to be, now it mostly makes cheap tools for the DIY users. Dewalt is owned by B&D and it is their premium range.

Then there are the Chinese brands like Crown, Sencan etc which are ok for occasional use but not for regular or heavy use. There's yet another type which is the Chinese unbranded/fakes. It's basically unbranded Chinese tools with name brand stickers such as Makita, Bosch B&D etc. These types are mostly junk, even the motor windings are not made from pure copper. They are really cheap, but really not worth it.

metro mostly has black and decker stuff.. a little dewalt as well and metros own brand fairline.

i use a black and decker drill machine and jig saw and they are working perfectly since past 5 years

I use dewalt. Never let me down. When comes to drills. Other stuff. Well it all depends on what the use is. Circler saw is only basic. I'll put some pics up of my tools.

Yes, i am hobbiyst woodworker and i use INGCO tools.

have few cheap chinese tools also and believe me they work equally good like branded tools.

When I started wood working DIY couple of years back, I was also very much fascinated with expensive tools. I believed that these are not expertise, but these are expensive tools which bring so much best results.

So I bought zero meter tools of INGCO like
Sanders (Palm Sander & Disc Sander, both).
Jigsaw
Drill Machine
F-Clamps
Etc. etc.

But later with practice i knew that these are not the tools who are responsible for the best results. These are infact one’s expertise which makes the projects nice, good looking & durable.

So I stopped spending on new tools and bought used Chinese tools from 2nd hand tools market. Like

Electric Hand Planner.
Angle Grinder
Router
Etc.

And for me these tools works equally good as like branded tools.

Moral of the story: Its not the Tools, but the man behind the tools.
