Workstation mouse Dongle damaged

So my bad ... I have a bad habbit to be very very choosy with keyboard to always be clicker and a mouse which works seemlessly and swiftly accross multple display...

I just got my dongle of mouse damaged accidently and it works if I keep it pressed agains the USB port or else it stops listening to the mouse movements.

My question is is it possible to buy a dongle only for the current mouse component? should be I assume? but I am not sure... thought I may ask..

Looks like minor damage on pcb or usb jacket. Can be repaired.
You can ask the seller if he's willing to sale separate. That has same frequency of your mouse. Or you can buy logitech unifying receiver they are programmable.

the port USB is stable if I plug some thing else it works but if i plug this dongle in any port it has to be kept pressed.. the imediate seller says these dont come seprate.. I was expecting that dongles must be available sepratly as well..

Yes i got it. It need some repair. Might need re-soldering of usb port (of receiver).
They are not available separately because each works on difference frequency.
It's a universal programmable receiver (dongle). Means you can adjust the frequency to match your mouse.

The modules you showed in photos are different. May be i am wrong...

Did you check it in another USB port and another computer?

How much that mouse cost? BTW i am asking it because the module (dongle) price will be somewhere near the new mouse, as it must be imported.

It happened to my roommate in China, he lost module of his new Logitech keyboard (thats quiet expensive)... I searched for it in Taobao (basically Alibaba in China), and found that Logitech doesn't sell components seperately, but there were a few spare part manufacturers who make replacements.. So I bought it for him, and it worked with the help of some 2ndary software.

As we are in Pakistan so replacement would be too difficult to find. I would suggest first check it in another computer. If the same, take it to some electronics engineer who might fix its broken pcb or usb connectors. The easiest way to solve your problem is buy a new one, this brand is not that expensive...

I personally like 'silent' mouse and 'mechanical' keyboard for my editing works. You can also go for a gaming or other high speed mouse.

thanks for an eloborated details, you have very keen eyes and you are correct the first image is of a diffrent dongle which I was trying to use from another mouse to see if I can share a dongle b/w mouses

yes the mouse it self was 1650 Rupees as its a wireless laser less (no red light in bottom) but I agree I should look into getting dongle fixed by some technician .

the effort to find new dongle or program a custom dongle is too much better get this repaired else buy new mouse I guess is best path.

unifying receiver is logitech patent, it lets u connect multiple devices with the same dongle, means u can connect a logitech mouse and keyboard with the same dongle, it shud have orange unifying sign on it...
if u loose either dongle or mouse, then u can connect any other logitech device using the unifying software...

logitech is the best in terms of computer accessories, HP/ dell rebrand logitech devices as own which come with their laptops...

yes, the new logitech is a bit expensive, however u can find a slightly used device in the similar price range of new a4tech, build quality, working and life span is far superior and justifies the price...
