I think that progress at any level propagates prosperity for all.
If we think about it, the building of this tall infrasture, would actually not Deprive the poor people of anything, as correctly pointed about by wik_a, but in reality it will provide the jobs for that poor family, which does not even have the clean water to drink.
I have seen the prosperity effect in US. The workers that construct the American Tall buildings, and Freeways, etc. are generally Poor Mexican labororers. There are many low to illilerate, not educated at all workers from Mexico, that work day and night here, just like in UAE, many laborers that build their tall building are from Pakistan or India with very little to no education.
So, I can see, the same Mexican Laborer's life improving scenario in US, being applied to poor labor class in Pakistan, in much the same way. Also the Pakistani labor class in the Gulf, many of which went there with low to no education.
So, if Pakistanis in Dubai can build their tall buildings, and become well of in Pakistan, similarly, samething can happen within Pakistan.
You need RICH people, to generate the opportunity of jobs for the not so fortunate.
So, this Building project, I HOPE this comes true. Would be a boon for the local population, and they would actually benefit, and not be hurt at all.
True the Ultra Rich would have the Biggest Part of the pie, perhaps even 99%, but the remaining 1%, can still be alot for the rest.
We need more Private projects like these.
