I am writing this post to highlight absolutely pathetic customer support of Toyota Sahara Motors.
I bought Corolla Altis 1.6 Special Edition in October 2021 from Toyota Sahara Motors, Jail Road, Lahore. The car was driven mostly on the motorway. I am not at all a rough driver and adhere to all the points which contribute to car longevity. This includes not driving the car roughly and adhering to the speed limits on and off Motorway.
In September 2022 I found out that the tread of both my rear tires had been worn out. The car was driven only 22,000 kms. When I got it checked it was found that the issue was due to the rear tire tube which was faulty and was causing the tread on the tires to wear. I took the car to Toyota Sahara Motor since the car was still in warranty. After weeks of following up I was told that my complaint has been forwarded to Toyota Indus Motors. I kept following up afterwards and after about 2 weeks I was told that I don't have any claim to the warranty since it was damaged by rough driving. They put all the blame on me and said they cannot do anything about it. When I got it inspected by the insurance company, they said that there was no evidence of accidental damage and that the fault was not due to my negligence and that it was actually a manufacturing fault. I even had to get a new pair of rear tires out of my own pocket which cost me Rs. 46,000. Toyota is asking me to pay an additional amount of Rs. 300,000 to get the issue fixed. This is just plain theft and ripping off the customer considering the ever increasing prices of the vehicles. Really did not expect this from Toyota at all. I have decided to approach the consumer court. I also request everyone to share this post as much as possible. I would also appreciate any kind suggestions from the fellow members. Much appreciated.
