Wrong owner name (issue solved)

I am selling my Suzuki Alto 2006, i just randomly checked the registration on Mtmis (and contacted helpline too) and found that the owner name father name etc is totally changed, it seems like the change happened when the life time token of the car was registered on 2012. Probably a clerical mistake. What should be done in this regard, as we are selling it and now got worried due to this error.

Is your name on the book? Also do you have the transfer order?

Yes we have the order book, we purchased it from showroom, it has my mothers name on it. Apparently during the lifetime token process they have entered the wrong name for the owner, because the date of token renewal and date of new owner transfer is same. We are planning to sell the car on Monday, now due to this issue we'll have to reschedule which might lead to our deal being dropped. I want to know what is the next step, how long will it take to rectify this

Entirely different name. Payment receipt and car copy shows my mothers name

It seems your car is registered to some one else name. Did you check the name on registration book?

Yes on the book its my mothers name

Then its a headache case for both you and the excise department.

if actual documentation is in order, relax. It must be an error at excise dept by data entry operator.

actual physical documentation & possession of vehicle is what matters.

almost every alternate year or so 2 cars sold away about 23 years ago still appears under my name at sindh excise motor vehicle dept portal.

I see, but before we sell this car we should get this error corrected in the excise dept right? Any idea how much time consuming is this process?

for that you may need to pay a visit to excise office. Be daring for their mistake do not budge or agree to editing or corrections in book. Excise shall perform correction in their database without any modification to physical papers in your possession.

Thank you everyone for your guidance, I went to the excise office with my mom and alhumdulilah our issue was resolved within 10 mins and our car deal wasn't damaged as well.

That's leaving a lot of details out. Did you meet an official, what process was followed did you have to submit an application what steps were involved.

We went to a clerk, showed him the original docs (and also gave them photocopies of the car copy and invoice), they were first saying that it will take 24 hrs, but we requested them to do this quickly because we were supposed to meet the buyer in a few hours, so they understood and the issue was resolved within 10 minutes
