WTB-honda civic or baleno.which is better

hi guys...
one of my friend wants to buy a car wid in the budget of 5lakh.the options r now narrowed to suzuki baleno 2002+ models and civic 96 shape(96,97,98).

now hez confused of wat shud he buy.the problem wid honda is that it wud b abit expensive to maintain nd also its abt 10yrs old.but it has the driving pleasure.

baleno is also nice,but the problem is that shud he trust the brand name SUZUKI? cuz he dnt want to hav a trip to mechanic everyday.he wants a problem-less car.is baleno fit for him?

and also,if anyone has any of these cars for sale.please let me know.post the details and pix here wid demand.the cars shud b in good condition wid no major work need to b done.

nd guys plz dnt suggest anything other then civic or baleno,as these r the only 2 options now.

Bro i had both of them...
i would say go for a civic preferably 99-00 ...previous models are also good or in your range u can also look for 00-03 city which is my favorite car ...

honda makes good reliable cars,however suzuki's baleno gave me tough time..it has some issues such as damn expensive and low quality parts ,coils.missfire and stuff inspite all that baleno has a nice ride and smart interior ...so if ure friend is not a mechanic kidna guy then she should for above mentioned hondas in this range ,thanks

civic is only one of its kind your friend should buy civic or as "automatic boy" said city 2001 is also good choice

civic 99 is the best option available coz of its graceful shape and superb performance even after 10 yrs of driving in harsh conditions of pakistan in this price range if only the person whoz buying the honda knows how to maintain hondas.

Well If He want a problem free car Civic is best but it depends on condition of the car. My Vote goes to Mighty CIVIC

the owner of a civic needs to keep a check of the major areas like suspension, engine performance and brakes and rest wil go smoothly and 1 most important point i wud like to share is that a 10 yr old civic wil still last another 5 yrs widout having to throw it away but a 6-7 yr old baleno wil not last as long and wud have to be thrown away very earlier so i wud suggest that u do not bring this point as a issue when comparing civic's life wid baleno's.
