Condition: 8/10
Working flawlessly
NOTE:
1.This amplifier doesn't only work but I got it restored from a home audio professional who has worked with Mcintosh amps before so it's working up to it's full potential i.e all bad caps etc were taken care of and restored to spec using a service manual so no jugars here.
2.There was a minor issue when I initially got it that a channel's volume used to get low at times but it was remedied with a dry solder and a cleaning of the channel switch.
3.The wires you see hanging out are directly soldered to the board because it's screws got stuck and I didn't intend to damage the board so I got the connections direct,it doesn't affect performance in anyway and it can be reverted back to it's original state.

Bottom Line:
This amp is accurate. I have tried it with a number of different head units (CDX-910; DRX-9255; MX-401) and with a variety of speakers (quart, a/d/s/, kef). It seems that whatever colorations inherent in a product can be heard through the MC420M. This ability is a testament to the MC420M's transparency, and accuracy. While it makes system matching easy, it also makes equalizing a bit more difficult as an accurate sound (as opposed to a warm sound) will more often than not produce more distinct midrange and midbass frequency reflections in an automobile. The Phaze Audio (now PPI) Tube driver is real popular for its warmth. However, tubes generally utilize a "pleasent" distortion to produce this warmth. For those of us who appreciate live music, warmth is not always the most important characteristic. Although McIntosh is coming out with a whole new line of products (the MC420M remains in the line) this amp is by far one of the best solid-state designs I have heard.
Personal note: Legendary amplifiers that people swear by,one of the best solid state designs ever and it mimics the characteristics and wonderful tonality of a tube amp.Very good when paired to neutral and even bright speakers well almost any type of speakers due to it's tone. Will last you a very long time due to it's uncompromised build quality.
P.s Kindly refrain from stupid offers and comments,if you have any queries or questions kindly ask them via PM rather than in the thread.
