Wts PIA Fare from Islamabad to Gilgit and From Islamabad to Skardu

I have plan to visit Hunza or skardu in december . i want to use PIA . because i do not have long time. . can any body tell me the fare of PIA to Round trip on these two Ways.

last i heard it was i guess 6300 return trip, but these days PIA is dead, nearly all the flights are late and the weather condition will not be good due to heavy snowfall all over in Northern Areas, plus it will be very very cold, below freezing point in December

A person must be very patient and free of time constraint to visit Gilgit or Skardu via "Air" if you are tight on schedule then prefer the land route...

Because 90% of the time the flights are cancelled and out of remaining 10% more than 50% of the time the flights are delayed... due to 2 reasons:

1. You never know about the weather there so, it can change anytime thus preventing the flights.

2. Poor performance of PIA...

If you are going to visit Gilgit/Skardu then do add around 2 more days...

My Suggestion will be to visit only one side at a time and explore it as much as you can... i mean only visit either Skardu or Gilgit don't add both of them in one trip of that small duration...

If you plan to visit Skardu then place to visit will be:

1. Skardu.
2. Shigar.
3. K2 base camp and much more.

And if you are planning to visit the Gilgit region then:

1. Gilgit
2. Nalthar
3. Ghizar District (Phundar and Gupis lakes are worth watching places)
4. If you have some more time then add the Hunza valley in it as well.

For transportation, the most reliable medium will be to have your personal transport (either rented or owned)... and on second number comes the NATCO... not sure if it's working in this season or not...

If going on your personal vehicle, then from Manshera go via KKH avoid Babusar as it's closed due to snow...

But this is only my opinion... it could be changed as per your will power/stamina and resources...

Charges are:
8500 one way.
17000 two way.

Note:Make some alternates in advance like (some contact number of jeep drivers) as u know 70% chance of flight cancellation.
