Salam everyone..
I wanted to ask you people about the performance of this yamaha rx115 bike because I am planning to get a bike in which I could get smooth drive with accuracy and stability at higher speeds.. And also tell about its spare parts availability in karachi because as per my information, engine parts of 2 strokes are replaced, they cannot be repaired,, i am not sure, you people are the experts so plz help me out of it... and plz also tell about its fuel average..

Wailaikum Assalam bro i'm from lahore as much as I know in karachi rx 115 parts are not easily available but they can be found much easier then in lahore although they are pretty much expensive then honda or other bikes parts and the second thing there were some parts which have to be replaced eg (piston) but some can be repaired.
The performance of RX is best in his class.It has reed valve and energy induction system,because of which she had more power and hp and RX does not heat up as fast as other 2 stroke bike and it gives 35 to 40 km per litre still it depends on the way you drive.

Thanks for the info... I really like this bike, so would you people recommend me to buy this bike ? I want to buy it in ok condition so I can restore it.. but the question is availability of parts in karachi ? And also I dont think I would get original unsleeved cylinder for this bike.... I went to ranchorline for info of this bike,, I visited 2 shops, one of saleem and other of shakeel i think, he said k lelo parts mil jatay hain,, then i went to aurangzeb market and visited asif's shop, he also said k lelo , and took names of fahim, kamran and said k ye log b apni bike ka saman yahan s letay hain,,,,, what should I do? Fahim bhai plz help me i want this bike ... what will u recommend me?

I will recommend this bike,you like RX but I love her and I'll appreciate your concept of restoring.
As I said before the parts are available but not commonly there are some special shops and markets were you can get them.

Okay, so firstly I'm no RX115 owner... I actually have a Yamaha YB100 so it's a Yamaha at least...

Anyhow, my question is: What's the good compression (in PSI) for Yamaha YB100?

Thing is, my bike is a PITA to start when cold... Needs kicks upon kicks on full choke... But when it gets warmed-up; it's all downhill from there... Mean, the bike runs and revs fine afterwards...

I've gotten it tuned up from a not so competent mechanic, and according to him carb is good, piston is good too, spark plug has been replaced. So is the air filter... So, bike should run fine, but it doesn't and that's really bugging me for a while...

Any advise would be deeply appreciated...

Brother don't know about PSI sorry for that.
2 stroke bike is not good when it comes to cold start but in your case i think that petrol evaporates from the carb or you had decrease the petrol by adjusting the needle (present in the carb) did you?

No, I didn't adjust the needle, but the mechanic did changed it a bit...

Now, the bike is getting really high (for a 2-Stroke) 35km/l fuel mileage so you may be right, the bike might be running lean...

I forgot to mention one more thing, brother. The spark plug gets really oily after the ride, so does it mean that my bike is running lean on petrol & rich on oil??? That darn mechanic really messed up my ride...!!!

So, what would you like to suggest me, brother? You're from Lahore too, so are there any competent 2-Stroke mechanic near Allama Iqbal Town? Doesn't matter if its a bit far as I don't mind burning a liter of petrol to get my bike fit...

No problem.
Brother first tell me that your bike's oil pump was working or you mix oil with petrol?
Sparks plug gets oily because oil pump works with rpm(means connected to connecting rod) when you accelerate amount of oil entering increases but as your mechanics decreases amount of petrol mixture because unbalance so the plug become oily but this situation only holds if you uses oil pump if your not using oil pump than your mixing more oil then require.
Sorry brother I know some mechanics but never prefer them they all are "jugaroo".....when I own a Dt 125 I never took it to them only bought a wheel form one mechanic after that experience " tobah"
I'll prefer to do work on your own I know it's difficult to done for the first time but never impossible.

Oil on spark plug is usually unburnt fuel either u are running too rich or your engine is losing compression BTW yb100 can easily give 40km/l

I don't premix oil with petrol because of the same reason you mentioned... Its more polluting that way (And I love my environment) and really eek the cylinder with un-burnt gooey oil which is a PITA to clean-up... I always pour 2T Oil in the side oil compartment (Auto Lube Bottle)...

So brother, what do you recommend in this situation? I know just a little bit about engines, so I've no idea how to diagnose the problem...

And brother, do forgive me for being such a dumb fool, but does a richer oil mixture in a 2-Stroke engine makes it problematic to start up when cold or not???

Please add 2t ash less oil in oil pump so that you bike doesn't smoke compression test is a bit tricky part as mechanic refer to compression as "valve pressure bans rahe hai" that doesn't go with 2t adding extra oil lower octane no of fuel so technically fuel will burn faster so you so it can't cause starting issue
