Yamaha to invest in Pakistan

This may be good news for us! I'm sure some of you must have read about it.

Yamaha is to invest in a $15 Million assembly plant where it will produce and export " motorcycles of advanced functions, high quality and sophisticated designs in the categories of 125 to 150cc". Not only will Yamaha be supplying our local market, it will be the hub for exports to exports to nearby countries in Asia or the Middle East.

Coming back to the subject, they've mentioned bikes with "advanced" functions and "sophisticated" design. I pray they will be manufacturing the Yamaha R125 bike here!!! :-#

The Yamaha R125 is a 125cc liquid cooled sport bike. Its going to be available in India in the Indian Rupees 90,000-100,000 range. Here are some snaps of the R125:

As a lot of people have already said this in PakWheels forums, its "high time" Pakistan had some "good bikes" entering into its markets. We are sick and tired of the same lousy Atlas Honda bikes that have been here since the youth of our parents!

Autually the R125 is NOT available in India.

its the R15 (150 cc) which is sold in India and not the R125 (125 cc)

The R15 sold in India is also a liquid cooled, 6 speed motorcycle with modern frame and fuel injection technology.

the other Yamaha 150 cc sold in India is the FZ16, a 153 cc, air cooled motorcycle for street use.

its still in jeapordy.

this plan may be cancelled because if they invest , small firms making component etc will run out of bussiness, with excessive unemployment.

and + Yamaha Japan will not invest SO much money when its recording a loss, and the change of CEO's.

Plus Yamaha have asked to change the import/export policy, which could harm out trade deficit.

so not happening

let's pray that DYL and Yamaha come to another agreement to import these babys. InshAllah

@meeteepao u r tru i already have this news and its also raised in automobile news section in pakwheels few months back.
but abhi tak sarkar or minister ka comession decide nahi ho raha is liae der ho rahi hay.
yamaha is facing some problem in sence of (duty) coz pakistan has same type of duties on 2 or 4 wheelers........yamaha wanna reduce the duty on two wheelers....this is the fact

@aliahmed dyl cud not do it. again once they had import the japs tech in early 70,s and 80,s like yb80,yb100,rx115,rx135,dt125 and dt175 but cudnt continued it ALLAHA knows why but i think they only want to know by japs that how can DAWOOD YAMAHA LIMITED can produce its own bike and when they e learned it they said good bye to japs.and now they r producing the corbon copies of yb100......and we do buy it again n again n again.
so halat to nazer nahi aa rahay but u said dua kertay hain to koi miracle hi ho sakta hay but in tillon main ab tail nahi.
han ager sarkar jo har kam main apna comession dekhti hay ager un ki samajh main aa jay or comession decide ho gya to shayed japs aa saktay hain

90,000 is the estimated price in Indian Rupees, which is equal to Pak Rupees 162,708

And thats excluding the import duty lol

well ur rite...but aniwaiz i gave him a call...n he said yea they plannin but its depend on the budget....if the budget allows the import duty decrease den yamaha mite invest here otherwise no!

Well this uncertainty sucks. And I am sure the Government ******-bags will never see the bigger picture by "sacrificing" Import Duties and allowing Yamaha to invest in Pakistan and to allow Pakistan and its citizens to reap the benefits.

i think yamaha shud contact to any ppp,s JIYALA n tell him the situation,i hope k then yamaha will abble to invest in pak.
