Today when I was coming back to home from Nazimabad, I felt k engine se ik ajib c sound arahi hai (engine sound, not the sound coming from exhaust) jesy seeti bajany ki awaz hoti hai (whistle), but ye halki c awaz hai lekin itni hai k mjhy helmet me feel hoti hai.. Interesting part is k ye awaz 50-60 kmh ki speed pe arahi hai jesy hi me bike ko 50 se nechy laon ya 60 se oper lejaon to koi awaz nahi ati. The odometer reading as of today is 780 kms.

Can you guys help? Getting worried now

Ha ha ha ha yes true. Chot jaldi theek nahi hogi. Anyway drive safe and no need to worry about missing and mess with anything specially carb factory settings. Keep filling it with regular fuel and enjoy the comfort along better fuel average.

This is common in YB 125z and if you want to dump its sound a little more then try shell engine oil. Further, you should consult with Yamaha service centre immediately if you are facing a weird noise.

I also hear these kind of sounds but different questions arises in my mind as well. However tomorrow morning at 10 i will be at university autos for my bike tunning.
Join me over there then we can compare these sounds and test if there is something wiered or all is normal.

this is all because of pathetic engine oil by yamha YAMALUBE. You will feel the real difference once you try Shell engine oil.

One of the member tried Liqui Moly and wasn’t satisfied with its performance. However, you can get original from makki oil and filter house. Better if you try Mobil 1 having price tag of 1650/-.

It surely will reduce engine noise as I have tried it already and again I am going to buy SHELL. Personally, I tried to stick with Yamalube but this isn’t practical at all. Major problem with Yamalube is that it make gear shifting hard and clutch starts slipping in 2nd shift. Last but not the least that engine becomes noisy. One of the member above tried ZIC m7 10w-40 and he provided good feedback. I won’t try that because company recommended viscosity is 20w-50. However, you can try different grades like api SG and SL. SHELL AX5 api is SL but I couldn’t find it in 20w-50. SHELL AX3 and AX5 both are mineral and have same price.

There's a video on YouTube about different engine oils for bikes, created by Haris Awan from Rawalpindi, his channel name is HorsePower. He said better to use synthetic oil, because it's totally chemically made and doesn't leave waistage inside the engine when the oil is burned.

Yes you can do whatever you think is better but I don’t think that synthetic oil is better for this type of air cool sohc Yamaha engine. API is a tricky thing in different engine oils and i personally find api SG is more better in yamaha than api SL. Semi synthetic oil will make this engine more noisy and can produce lines on piston due to incorrect viscosity as Yamaha recommend viscosity is 20w-50 and semi synthetic m7 by zic is 10w-40

I just checked the manual once again and it clearly suggests to use API SG or higher grade oil while 10w-50 is the best viscosity to tackle cold start as well as extreme weather condition. API SL by Yamalube which is packed by Total is causing clutch slip as well as gear shifting becomes panic. I need to check SHELL AX5 api SL in 10w-50 or 15w-50 otherwise I will switch back to SHELL AX3 20w-50 api SG. Now higher doesn’t mean that you start pouring api SM/SN in this old tech engine as it can damage your engine/clutch quickly. You can try ZIC M7 api SL 10w-40 if you do not drive in stressed conditions and you don’t get bother with engine noise.

Thank you for the detailed response. I was going through the older posts and see that the people who have tried Shell AX3 are satisfied with its performance. However, Shell AX3 is API SG and the AX5 is API SL, the API SL is company recommended. I wanna try the Shell AX5 20w50 after first tuning of my bike. @boldpisces

Less engine noise and vibration are my top priority.

Brother just forget about the company and those idiots on YouTube who are suggesting any xyz brands. Best recommendation is to follow the manual and it suggests api SG for less noise and vibration. Find out ax5 but if you couldn’t find that out in correct viscosity then AX3 is the best choice and I already have tried that. Now I am again to find out AX5 in 10w-50 otherwise I will get back to AX3. Unfortunately, AX5 is hard to find in 20w-50.
