Yamaha YBR 125G tank leaking

Yamaha YBR 125 G tank is leaking. It's 2016 model. Went to welder, he said car radiator fix karne wala karega isse, because chaadar patli hay. Went to radiator guy. I had spotted 4-5 holes, that guy spotted like 10-12 holes. Attaching pics. Anyways, the question is, is this normal for this to happen after 5 years ? I bought this bike second hand, so I dunno if the guy who had it before did something wrong with it ? The company is quoting ~9200 PKR for a new tank. Will this happen to the new tank as well after a few years ? How do I stop it from happening again I. The new tank ?
How should I protect the new tank's paint ?
Any other comments suggestions from senior members would be welcome.

I have a ybr g too...bought new in 2016 ....isn't it too early fr the tank to leak?where do u use the bike?i mean do u use in dirt and water excessively?

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking, it's too early.
I use it in Lahore for day to day commute, so nothing extraordinary. I did take the bike on a trip to Nathia Gali if that helps.

Yr itna rust to china ki 70 mn b nh hota.
I thought that YBRs are a good option as compared to suzuki keeping in view a bit better comfort level.
But this rust thing is putting a big question mark on the durability of yamahas forcing me to think that suzukis are the best local menufactured bikes.

My cousin bought his ybr g at almost the same time as me ..he has done 2 trips to GB and 2 or 3 to karachi on it.apart from this he uses it as a daily commute and has done many trips to places like sheikhupura ,ravi river bed etc etc..no such issue has arised ever...

This is hopeless, didn't expect this from Yamaha. Will have to buy a new tank nonetheless. Any idea if there's any sealant available which I can put in the new tank to make it last longer ?

Don't risk with leaking fuel on top of a hot engine. Spending 9,200Rs is better than loosing the whole bike in fire.

Personally I don't think there can be that much of rust on its own. This is just too much and unheard for!

Is there a way for water to leak under the frame and sit there after a wash? Is there rust inside the tank too? Are you sure this is genuine Yamaha tank and not replaced before? Frankly it looks like a cheap copy to me made of inferior metal not quality steel like it should be from factory.

These look like 1500-2000 walay tanky tapay for cg125 that used to leak in 6 months. I am pretty sure these were replaced, maybe the bike got damage and the previous owner replaced the tank with these?

Get a new original tank asap and think about what happened later. Don't risk ur whole bike for saving a few Rs.

G @big_bud bhai, imma get a new tank this week In Shaa Allah. I just wanted to check if someone else had faced this so I could be cautious with the new tank when I get it.
I'll agree with you on that, I also suspect something is fishy with my Bike's tank, it's not original or whatever - will get a word on it from Yamaha as well when I go to buy the new one. Will update you peeps one I find time 🤞
