I am starting the thread with question if one asks, which is the best available 125cc in Pakistan?. What do you think what is right answer for it, In my view right answer obviously should be the YBR125 & YB125Z. But why these bikes are not successful in winning hearts of people there could be list of reasons to tell but to me it looks YBR international as it is launched here in Pakistan did not impress people alot. This is the complain i have with Yamaha as well they should have modified bike according to Pakistani people. What people disliked most in YBR 1.Performance 2. Sound 3. Spare Parts 4. Design. Its Performance was not justifying its looks & Sound when people had been listening heavy tone of CG125 for decades. It was obviously how would the accept an super silent bike. Spare parts were not readily available & insane expensive. Design short fenders troubled owners alot & compelled to go for Jugaar.
Yamaha should have entered in Pakistan with some preparation above all issues they seems to working but still have not sorted out all. Atlas Honda has established its strong name in people's heart so people would love it anyway. But Yamaha has to look after people concerns seriously as they are new entrant.
In newly launched 2018 model of YBR125, They have installed new muffler with decent tone now people around you will notice if you pass by & black painted muffler does look good people first did not like it even in cg125 case but now people love it. New dial in meter is good change to give fresh feeling dial shows 120km/h which is logical practical for 125cc engine. But here one of the most important thing that we are getting to know from dealers is the Yamaha has tweaked carburetor & overall engine performance. I came to know about this in youtube review from Yamaha Capital Motors. Now this is the most crucial change along with other changes hopefully there is improvement in overall performance of bike & it does not feel sluggish in performance specially people complained who rode it with pillion & mountain hills.
Now talking about what i disliked in 2018 YBR , Did not like Yamaha move to keep the tank, side covers graphics very simple almost without graphics except for just an ybr & yamaha sticker. I mean the nation that is loving Atlas Honda stickers for decades obviously this is not good move though still it looks good because of its muscular sporty looks. But it was much better if they had improved graphics rather than removing and no doubt with graphics bike look much better as compare to without graphics. Like see CB150F very beautiful graphics theme complete on bike gives attractive look. Other thing that i did not like, and Yamaha must have changed, Are the fenders still the same improper fenders which are not effective in stopping dirt properly.
In the end no doubt in terms of Technology & Features, Yamaha is offering very good options but they gotta consider people's concern very seriously and introduce changes according to their needs. They should also introduce 100cc-150cc motorcycles & if YBZ is failing to seek attention of people in large number though its very good. They should re-design it again making it even more sleek in design & low weight. Yamaha YBZ is neither small in size nor too big but compare to CG125/Dream It is heavier. So if its unable to give large number of sale to Yamaha they gotta to do this change to stay in Pakistan for long time. Their competitor is very strong Atlas Honda.
