I have yamaha ybz-dx. I have confusion about the authentic and best method for tappet setting. My current mechanic only opens in-take & exhaust Nuts and adjusts the tappets using metal gauges strips and doesn't open the side cover to adjust the timing chain. According to him, only less experience or Jugaaro Mechanic open this side cover. I have seen some videos online, and almost all of those mechanics had open timing chain cover and match the two arrows along with those in-take and exhaust nuts.
Also, should we clean the petrol filter (which is in a white plastic cap) during every oil change?
