Yaris vs. City

I'm looking to buy a car for my parents. It will be used for weekly grocery shopping and errands, rarely for out-of-city trips.

Previously, I was looking for a certified used Yaris around 40L, but couldn't find any below 43L. Now I'm thinking of buying a new Yaris or City, since both of them have base (automatic) models priced at around 48L.

Two questions:
1. Would the additional 5L be worth it for a new car?
2. Between the two (Yaris and City), which do you recommend for my use case?

I have had city for last 3 years (both base and aspire). I can tell you, its good fun. Base model maybe a bit slow but cabin is much better than a Yaris which is Toyota and hence boring.
IMO, if you can get a good clean car 2022,23 model and can save yourself 5Lac, go for it.

Thank you for your input. To be honest, all my reasons for buying the car are practical since it will be used by my parents. To your point about the passenger cabin, if ingress/egress is significantly easier for one car vs. the other, that is definitely important to me.

City khuli khuli hai aur ingress/egress bhi easy hai, if you get it in black or white, its easy to maintain

1.2 cvt city will be underpowered ..although the interior look of city is little bit nicer then yaris but its built quality and suspension is inferior .. honda city has a phatta type hard suspension which makes you feel each and every bump,khadda on the road plus its fragile its more likely to give you issues in the long run but considering it will mostly be used for inner city grocery shopping go for city ,1.2 engine will have less tax and lower maintanence cost.

For the ease of elderly access, WagonR is better as it's seats are very high.
