Driving on TN SH68 which was a harrowing experience due to construction!. At the next stop for chai, we were told to avoid this road and take a rural road that drove into Salem also. All we were told was to take a left at the next junction and keep driving. There was a signpost but no road designation. Though we were apprehensive at first, we enjoyed the drive through the rural areas except for the slowdown while driving through a town or village. I liked the drive much better than the highway.

One minute clear and the other minute gloomy and in another pelting rain!.On the rural road bypass to Salem. Loved the initial drive till we drove into towns/villages and farm/commercial traffic.

Bikers along the way. Usually drive past biker gangs but not this trip.

This guy was on a cruiser and this was the only shot i could get!. I guess he saw me clicking and slowed down:D

Next set of views will be driving up the Shevaroy hills to Yercaud. Below is a view of the valley and the city of Salem as we drive up. Now you know where Salem, OR and Salem, MA in the US got their city names from thanks to the British!.

More views later. Posting roadtrip pics is a lot of hard work and thank me for being lazy and not posting pics of my Cochin trip! I'll be here forever.

OH!!!!!!! i remember this road. This is the place where most of the tragedies/murders/tyre puncture/encounters happen on Star Plus/CID. We usually see a bride standing alone for hours here and asking for a lift but sadly nobody stops and the only car that stops is either her old bf or the villan
