But I was having issue with my auto fan switch at that time. Installed a new one and now needle lies exactly in the middle.

Dear fellows, i have a query, i m using Zic Hiflo X5 20W-50 in my cultus 2004 engine is in really good condition no smoke no oil reduction awes0me pick i really wanna switch to Caltex Havoline 20W-50 but a friend is using havoline 20W-50 in his cultus n his car's engine is really noisy as compared to mine that's why im hesistating about making a switch ?

1. You r not using correct OIL.Your cultus needs certain zddp values which this Zic Hiflo API SM grade lacks.You have to use API SG grade which meets this zddp requirement so immediately switch to SUZUKI SGP Engine Oil API SG & use only QAIM or GUARD air filter and oil filters(beware of fake brands). You will get 4 Litre of Suzuki Engine Oil in between Rs. 1650 to Rs. 1700 from Suzuki 3S dealers

1. Do not drive or even start your car with Petrol needle below Half mark.ALWAYS KEEP PETROL TANK FILL UPTO HALF. Less than half will cause several other issues

What do u say about Havoline 20W-50 i think its API SG too and API SM is advanced than SG then why use SG grade ?

I had bad tappet noise issue with zic hiflow. Then Shifted to castrol magnetic 10-40. But for last couple of months I'm using Suzuki premium oil (silver packing ) and much satisfied with it. Try that

don't have any experience with caltex , but have very bad experience with 20w-50 grade. Wait for any expert or experienced opinion.

btw Bro, What should be the oil change interval with SGP Premium(silver) ? 3000km or 5000 km ?

20 w 50 is for older and weak engines...will lower consumption pick etc.

carby cultus. Engine sounded like tractor, much noisy
Even after COMPLETE engine overhauling got tik tik tappet noise after a week or so, had to change all the tappets (tikki ) again. Thereafter,shifted to10w-40 aur fir "sab hansi khushi rehnay lagay"

Actually Cultus Engine is very very old Technology so they have tappet,hydraulic lifters so they need certain amount of Zddp which old engine oils like SE, SG has.This zddp has some environmental issues so New grades like SH,SJ,SL,SM,SN has either very low zddp or perhaps Nil which r ideal and perfect for new Technology Engines(unfortunately cultus has old engine tech. so it needs old SG grade,new oil cannot meet these old tech. engines)

What will be the noticeable differences if i switch from SM grade which im currently using to SG grade ?

Switching from10w40 SM to 10w40SG will give you more power, Less noise,light weight,smoother fast pick,rapid 0 to 100 time,
more power means(SM grade will feel u underpower)
