Yokohama Advan DB V552 for Honda City

Hey Pakwheelers. Need a suggestion. I am planning to change tyres of my 2018 Honda City. I want Yoko Advan DB. I am gettting 185-65-15 Advan DB V552 Dated 27th week of 2018. He is asking for 10500 per tyre. Only thing I am concerned is that I dont want Smuggled tyres. & there is no way I can Judge if its smuggled or imported. Another shopkeeper is selling same tyres for 9400 but he is admitting that its smuggled. I am attaching pictures . What do you guys think? Worst case scenario If I end up with smuggled tyres on my car. What would be cons of that?

Try to get from Authorised dealers of Yokohama from Lahore or Islamabad. Shaikh brothers in Lahore are authorised

Who is authorised dealer in rwp/isl? Any idea?

While it's hard to be completely sure, Shaikh Brothers Lahore is the authorized dealer. For reference, this is a pic that I took at one of the shops here in Karachi. You can see the imported seal and Shaikh Brothers sticker at the bottom.

What is rate of advan db 195 or 185 65 R15.

I got tyre changed from Islamabad. Blue area. Avg rate there was 11500 per tyre and manufacturing date was 1518

Yeah I will call sheikh bros tomorrow to see if they have any Authorized dealer here. Other wise I will visit Lhr or Isl.

Well this is really helpfull. No one had this seal or sheikh bros import slip on the tyres. No one is giving any warranty also.

I am getting same rate quote (11500) for 195-65-15 over here. But I have a friend who works for a distributor of some chinese brand tyre. He have some links in market & he said he can get me that size & second half of 2018 yoko for 9500 rs. But I dont want that size. His link doesnot have 185 size.

As Sheikh brothers is closed today I called tyre point. They have a good website. They said they can deliver the tyre to my address. They are asking for 10750 per tyre for 185-65-15. I asked him that will it have sheikh bros seal on it. At first he didnt understand but then he said yes. Plus they are giving 6 months or 25000 km warranty. What do you guys think? Any experiences from tyre point? Should I risk getting tyres from an online source?

Tyrepoint is perfectly reliable. But personally I will never buy tires online. There's peace of mind looking at the tires before paying for them (manufacture date, generally checking for any flaws) and also in-person engagement with the tire shop is better, compared to talking to someone over the phone.

I got a follow up call from tyre point. I confirmed every thing again. He said tyres will have seal & sheikh bros sticker plus 6 months warranty. Also he said you can inspect the tyres at the time of delivery & then pay for it. I havent decided yet. But I am feeling inclined towards ordering .

I called Sheikh bros today. They have a dealer here but he isnt selling the tyre with there warranty or seal. I told it to them & it was a bitt shocking for them. They offered to ship the tyre to me. But they asked 11500 for a tyre. I dont know why original importer is selling it more expensive than there dealers. I confirmed with them that Tyre point is there authorized dealer. I am planning to go to tyre point head office in Shiekhupura this weekend & get the tyres from there.

Purchasing tyres from tyrepoint from a long time. I believe in them, and faced no issues with any tyre except punctures from screws and bolts. Not a single cut on any tyres.

Well thats good to hear. I will be getting the new tyres this weekend. I will share my experince after that. Hope they have good alloys as well as I am looking for some good branded alloys but cant find any.

For good branded alloys, go to autoexpress jain mandir chowk Lahore. He’s authorised lenso dealer and authorised bridgestone tyre dealer.
I confirmed from tyrepoint Lahore yesterday, v552 was available smuggled one, and almost everybody is selling smuggled one. Sheikh brothers have started importing only bluearth at this moment. Get bluearth instead of advan. It was sheikh brother genuine import tyre.

Advan DB V552 not available with Sheikh Brothers Khi till 2 weeks back. Was told to check again by the end of Jan.

Yeah I called tyre point. They are saying that Yokohama have replaced Advan DB with Bluearth LOL. Which means they dont have it. Dont know why they told me on saturday that they have it & they can ship it to me. I asked him the same & he said he will call me back tomorrow & will let me know if he can get me Advan DB. Is there anyone who have used Bluearth. I dont know what to expect from them as the tread is a lot different from DB.
