guys what about doing what title says, i got honda CD 2007 model, never it has seen anything other than caltex supreme, now its havoline, problem is for the last two oil changes i am not satisfied, engine sound is not proper and gears also click so thought of putting in Zic A+, its of 5w/20 while supreme/havoline is 20w/40, both are of almost same conistency/thickness and for those temp rating if its good in cars might be good for this small engine too.

i declare this fourm now open for opinons and discussions

dekho mahmood i perfer u go for original oil which honda made for bikes and for cd 70 n dont put zic a+ in your bike its not suitable for your cd 70 its for car not for bike

its not suitable for bike as its for bigger engine, but thats the exact poin i wanna know, why its not suitable? for thickness i've said its same as A+ and for temperature rating if it can manage 4 cylinder machine than how bad this 1/4 cylinder

A+ ZIC should not be used in old engine bikes especially because according to my information the A+ oil tends to remove any carbon on and around the piston and thereby causing the engine knocking. However, if the engine is new it will prevent carbon on the pistons.

I think Zic A+ has an API SM rating, so it is for new cars and is not suitable for wet clutch bike engines. Only API SF, API SG or JASO MA certified oils should be used in motorcycle engines.

Isnt it?
Why dont you try GTX Magnetic?
I,ve been using it in my bike and the performance is much better than Havoline.

My couzin is using Zic A+ in his 125 deluxe 06 and he is satisfied from the performance.

main zic A+ istimal kar raha hoon gs-150 suzuki 2008 model. ek faida to yeh hua kay mera bike boht zayada garam ho jati thi, i can even feel a lot of heat coming out of the engine under my legs , laikin jaisay he mainay zic pay switch over kiya bike ka engine ab bikul thora sa garam hota hay aur oper baith kay heat bhi feel nai hoti engine ki pehlay ki tarah. its about 5 months now, i changed the oil every after 1000km.

There are very much chances that ur bike's engine will loose compression if u use this oil or any oil with such specification.

Havoline (Supreme) has 20 grade vicosity @ 0 deg C while spces of A+ shows it has 20 grade viscosity at 100 Deg C. They didnt have same thicknes/viscosity.
U may try Zic A+ or some other advance grade oil in new bike but a thiner grade Synthetic oil will definately hram engine in 4 years old bike which is previuosly running on mineral oil.

ok, but what sort of demage it will cause to engine, my bike have clocked 50k and spark plug to this time came out to be red

with passage of time mineral oil leave deposits in side the engine which are not good for engine performance & eficiency but to some extant in old & weak engines those deopsits play a vital role to maintain engine compression.
Synthatic oils have X-tics of cleaning inside the engine. So the issue arises wen we put synthetic oil in old engines which previously have been run on mineral oil & in most of the cases apparently healthy engines looses engine compression coz synthetic oil starts cleaning sludge 7 deposits build inside the engine so its better to avoid such practice unless u r damn sure that internal engine condition of ur bike/car is perfect.

On the other hand as @asad01 mentioned above advance Motrcylcle oils differs in X-tics from oils being made for cars & other vehicles. So for motorcyles one should select oil recomanded by Motor cylcle manufacturers Jaso MA (wet Clutch), MB & FC(2T) standards are approved by Japanese motor cylcle industries.
So if u wana switch to some advance oil its better u use ZiC 4T which is complaint with API SL/JASO MA & have semi sythetic formula.

Sir, Mr.SKZIC the official Zic guy says that their 4T is fully synthetic.....does that mean its not good for bike which has had mineral oil used in past??

Dear All the Japness motor cycles 's engine oil main requirement is JASO MA , grading, ZIC 4T has got it and more over ZIC 4T is Fully synthetic Motor Cycle engine oil , so i again recommend all Motorcycle owners to switch over to ZIC 4T for getting best results, Engine protection, fuel saving , long drain oil and more engine life

come on sameer bhai, ofcourse at room temperature, or rather on a very pleasent islamabad evening temperature these days, and consistency was checked by taking both oils between thumb and index finger

not all of us do oil all day long and you know this and this is the best most of us laymans can do, expecting some really valueable input from you.

i think car engines can be flushed then why not bike and then simply switch to zic.if engine is weak i think u shud use caltex with stp.no carbon no prob

To be precise one shud avoid use of synthetic oil in weak engines if they were previously using minerals oil.
MR SKZIC must be rite about their product i havnt tried Zic 4T is my bike yet but will try it on next oil chnage.
