Hi

i wana switch from zic A+ to some other brand .I used to change it after every 4500kms..never had a problem but mechanic says "ye patla oil hai engine farig ker day ga not for PK"

what u guys say????????

I would love to see replies on this as I myself am using Zic A+ for quite some time now.

Where are you Oil experts. Come on give us your expert opinion.

'Patla'? As far as I know their viscosity is written on the label and two brands with 20W50 (for instance) should have the same viscosity. Expert opinion sought.

per yaar i never had any issues with zic for the last 3 yrs...is it suitable for summer or not ??????????

zic a+ is 5w-30 .

Wikipedia says:
The SAE designation for multi-grade oils includes two grade numbers; for example, 10W-30 designates a common multi-grade oil. Historically, the first number associated with the W (again 'W' is for Winter, not Weight) is not rated at any single temperature. The "10W" means that this oil can be pumped by your engine as well as a single-grade SAE 10 oil can be pumped. "5W" can be pumped at a lower temperature than "10W" and "0W" can be pumped at a lower temperature than "5W". The second number, 30, means that the viscosity of this multi-grade oil at 100 °C (212 °F)

It means at max in heat zic a+ can go to 30 unit, experts tell us that is it ok to our local conditions?

first time i m hearing that patla oil engine farigh karta hay ..
i m also using zic a+ since 2006... no issues so far..

yes its not recommend for old cars... but i feel its a good oil if u get the original ..

well its up to u to change oil or not ... hopefully some expert will come up with ideas..

but i strongly recommend u to change ur mechanic

i have been using Zic A+ since 2004.
and my car's engine performs as good as new
and i am getting awesome fuel average too.
"patla" or not, its been working good for my car. and i btw change it after 6 to 7K.

I also never had any issues with ZIC A+ ffor last 2.5 years. It is one of the best and quality engine oil in Pakistan, i beleive.

Next time if he says that its patla say to him engine oils are meant to be patlay, dont compare it with banaspati ghee

I only feel to reply this thread because you replied it at last.

Anyway,
Here is something for Zic A+ users.
New zic a+ is 5/20 with sn gl-5 standards. Sci is 5K.

Now, Profi-Car also has similar oil 5/20 and sci is upto 6K.
Price wise its same as zic a+, but have good performance specifications.

I am using zic a+ in all my cars , Now my ApV has passed 170k and still engine is going strong , No problem whatsoever
