It is a distinct sound from VW exhaust as it revs.
Wa Alaikum-us-Salam Sir!
I wonder how it got cracked, I'm pretty sure it was my previous mechanic who had put it in after some engine work. I noticed fuel smell after a few days of that and then when I checked I saw fuel dripping out of the pump itself.
Are you sure your fuel pump itself is cracked???? Or maybe its the base/pedestal/'stand'????
No it is the pump itself that has a very thin and long crack on it, difficult to see but when I checked it in detail as I could see some fuel on that portion, it was there.
Would like to see a pic of the broken fuel pump....possible??? Can guide you from there on. Replacing a fuel pump is quite simple and straightforward.
I'll definitely post up the actual picture within a couple of days. Yes replacing fuel pump is not a big task for me too, provided I get my hands on one good one.
Would you like me to locate a new fuel pump for you???? And please be on the lookout for my SMS messages......I did message you a few days ago as I had located a fresh stock of tail pipes for you but got no response. Now Id safely assume the SMS never made it to you somehow.
I'd be grateful if you check the local market and locate one, I've also told my mechanic to find my one ASAP.
And what? I didn't get any text from you, maybe some network issues or sometimes my phone dies when it comes to signal strength, so I believe thats why I didn't get your text. I thought they're still not available there. Do PM me your account number or when and how to send the payment, would appreciate if I can get 3 pairs of tailpipes (friend's included).
How much did the locally made muffler/exhaust cost you??? Someone had a Brazilian one sometime ago........guess it would have been sold by now.
It cost me around 2000Rs, I gave proper diagrams of the muffler's interior and got it made under my supervision. Although not 100% but somehow better than the ready-made ones.
I even try to meet the VW owners when I see one around in town, ask them about their car and tell them about the this site. But I guess people are too busy or that "I know all" syndrome!
Yes, it is a sheer possibility that my mechanics switched its rod with the other model pump or something else can be the culprit, maybe thin gasket. I'll confirm one I open and check it myself.
It is a beautiful 1303 there, the interiors seems really clean, please post some more photos when the paint job is done. Also post some engine bay's photos. Is it still running 1500?
I hope you've got my message there. Will check upon the guy on Walton Road.
