The 7th generation Hilux which is also known as “Vigo Champ” was introduced in Pakistan in 2013. The Hilux is offered here in 4 trims in which the baseline is a standard ‘Hilux E’ where the other 3 are called Vigo Champ V, G and GX and the features increase with the higher variant. They all use same 2.5l turbocharged D4D engine. The G and GX variants have a 4-Speed AT gearbox.
On the exterior, the Hilux carries the Toyota’s traditional body design language which has been moulded into the style of modern world. The Hilux fits in the urban environment with its tough on and off road abilities. The Hilux double cab along with its large rear cabin and huge ground clearance gives the truck a bulky presence.
Inside the Hilux, the baseline and top of the line variants share the same beige/black theme but the features and options keep on climbing with the higher variants. The Hilux offers comfortable leg and headroom for its occupants. The seating is comfortable but being a truck, the suspension is very stiff because of its empty rear cabin which makes the ride quality very rough. The rear cabin can be further customized for additional seats or can be used for carrying heavy/light loads in a huge quantity.
