For a good paint job have to dis assemble them.

With the help of a friend, made special tool.

After giving some finish from a local machinist, clear coat with some baking facility.

Spring length measurement.

Oil seal fitting with freezer technique.

Niceeee! So you will also be refurbishing the front suspension. Will you be re-using the same seals, o-rings and spring. bcoz I think sourcing these parts for GTO would be a little bit of a hassle.

NOK brand, (New seals) available and replaced.

O rings and rod mounting L key bolt washers are soft and ok.

Spring length measured, its like new.

Yes sourcing parts is difficult, till date I need front brake caliper piston, front shock dust covers.
The good option is GS 150 front shocks rod diameter is same, so dust seals could be replaced with them.

Have checked from pak suzuki and rest of the market,even Lahore, no one have them yet.
Every one says there is not a single demand yet.

Regarding parts, I don't know any fellow pakwheelers could help me or not.

Right after I saw your post of front suspension yesterday I watched a 80min tutorial on fork service. The guy refurbished OHLINS Forks for his Yamaha R1...... they cost like $2,000 second hand and $3,500 new....... very expensive racing forks. Thing is he wanted to replace the fork oil with that of a different grade. He contact OHLINS and KYLE RACING to know the effects of using a different grade of oil than recommended.

He was told that OHLINS designed and developed those forks to work on "This" particular grade of oil and if you use a different one basically you will pour all of manufacturer's research down the drain.

Forks are designed around the fork oil and not the other way around....... one can play with the amount of fork oil one puts in..... (the more oil you put in the harder the shock gets).

and as per my knowledge if fork oil is not available the secondary option is automatic gearbox oil work better

Sir How bad is the brake caliper piston rusted? The rule of thumb is replace brake parts rather than repairing them however if you cant find a caliper piston you have look closely at the rust damage.

If the part of the piston which actually slides into the caliber is not rusted then its safe you use the piston. The rust you see at end normally rusts as its an exposed part.

You can use steel wool or scrotch brite to remove the rust. If the rust is not just on the surface...... and the piston is too far gone and you cant find a replacement part then desperate times call for desperate measures ........ you might need to get the piston resurfaced on the lathe... some filling might be required..... not ideal sisuation but I dont see another option.

Or you can simply get a Chinese disc brake and replace the whole unit.... they are easily available..... again not the best solution

But its really hard to get proper stuff in my city.

even I could not find SAE 10w20 oil from any where.

In the start of my post I excused from experts for this reason.

Blending oil is my first time experience.

As always a delight to see your post and being reassured that there still are some of us who dare to experiment and thus learn.
BTW what is so serious about fork oil, what it only can do is, either soften or stiffen up the forks and if you don't like it pour it out and put in some different concoction. After all one can only learn by one's mistakes (Daagh nahi to sikhna nahi!).
Regarding experts, to me the only ones are those who learn from their hand-on work, otherwise these days "Google University" can churn out instant armchair experts!

Feels myself a student and try to learn from juniors, seniors, learned and non learned members.

Experimenting in life is a must.

Also learned many times form my son, cause his perspective is different from mine.

And many times others are performing better or different ways.

I think learning is best when you open all doors and windows.

Now about the fork oil.

The # 10 oil (as told by seller) was specially arranged from Lahore many years back, and at that time INTERNET was not here to investigate.

The source was a workshop at McLeod road, who arranged and sold me as shock oil of # 10.

Your idea of machine oil is very appealing.

If forks performance felt low, will try machine oil idea.

I hope you are fine and in good health
Last time when I visited faisalabad, I went to yusuf autos, and mr.yusuf had me try his GS150 with a custom oil poured in front shocks. I took a ride and found the shocks to be extremely responsive. Later he referred me to the oil store where he got his oil from and I bought myself half a litre, though I still haven't tried it due to my busy schedule. Will InshaAllaah pour it next month
