As we were stopped by the side of the road with a broken accelerator cable, a Jimny wala bhai whose "bigen bol gaya tha" also stopped and informed us that "bas ab relax karein, aur race enjoy karein, iss ka bhee apna maza hai". Abhi we were just coming to terms when a Vigo passed us and slowed down slightly on seeing two cars parked on the roadside. We waved him on and just as he passed us I noticed the Vigo's front wheel was wobbling noticeably and before any further thoughts I heard voices of "oh gaya, ulat gayee". Looking towards the car just down the track I only saw dust and started running towards it. Running on sand is always fun BTW. Nevertheless, long story short : brand new well prepped Vigo from Karachi with Feroz SB navigating, two studs came loose/broke, wheel started wobbling and voila: cracked off the entire front mounting surface / brake assembly as the wheeel came off. The car did not roll over but luckily slid off and came to a halt at 90 degree on the side of to the track. We got there running to find that 2 choohon kee jaga ab 6 race enjoy karein ge
Moral of Story : Note camber above (though this one seems to have taken some hard work getting there), don't think that if you have a new fangled prepped ride, nothing can ever go wrong. In the past 4 years that I have done Cholistan, the track has been progressively gotten tougher, and this year everything on every car was totally at risk.
