There is no VTA2 pin. I will try to get different ECU for testing.

BTW they got a lot of 4AFE ecu's but not many 5afe. Can I use 4AFE one after matching pinouts?

Yes You can For testing...!! if pinout is exactly same...

the 4AFE ECU will not run the 5AFE engine because the 5AFE does not have a cam sensor (G1) in the distributor, The 4AFE uses a cam and crank signal to operate - the 5AFE only uses the crank (NE) signal. The 4AFE distibutor will have 2 plugs of 6 and 2 pins while the 5AFE would have 2 plugs of 4 and 2 pins

to check functionality of what you have,

trace the TPS wires back to the ECU and see where they terminate. then check the relevant pinout. Most probably you have an ECU that uses no IDL pin but rather just the angle sweep. (some export models Toyotas have this configuration - Indus Corolla with 4AFE has it - no IDL pin) hence they use a different 3 wire sensor.

Check appropriately and the problem will find a solution eventually.

Do look at your ECU pins that if you have, S1, S2 and SL pins.

Oh okay. Thx i will check this. BTW they were installing 4AFE ECU to this engine which i said no they insisted that this will work fine but i said nope I need 5AFE ecu and they had to open bag of ECU's and find this one I insisted again for Manual ECU but they had only Auto one.

You are right Plugs i have on distributor are 2 Wire and 4 Wire ones.

Hmm...Crank angle signal difference...but that's exchangeable....doesn't it??
if not then find another 5AFE ECU prolly M/t One......!! it don't have to make much diff but still give it a try after all the stuff checked...!!

I connected the ELS to head light positive. Hmm not much difference I mean if I look very very very closely i can feel 0.02 RPM raise that also not sure as its hard to judge. I tried both ELS 1 and ELS2 same result.

your engine already has a crank angle sensor, its in the distributor and connected to the NE points (toyota term for crank sensor)

what your engine lacks is a cam position sensor (aka TDC sensor). If you want the 4AFE ECU to work you would need the 4AFE distributor too, and 2 extra wires going to the ECU for the cam sensor.

btw, im wondering, what speed is a good hot idle? 650? or 700/ 750? or 900?

Today I had free time to so did two things.

1 - Connected Check Engine Light to the ECU.

See the pics. Its connected and turns off as soon as car is started also tested it by unplugging on sensor and it was on.

Previously it was connected to some thing else.

See the Red wire that is the CEL wire.

2 - Tried very hard to located the SPD signal but to no avail. These are two places where it is normaly and its not there. SO this experiment failed.
I tried both these places shown in pic. One says RE other SE.

Amazing CNG consumption i got this week. Car done around 172KM local driving still some gas left it will easily do another 10 to 15 KM.

hmmm, troubling that spd wire cant be located easily....

1) i changed spark plugs today to NGK ones (xli walay ). old plugs were wayy too....dirty. Very good pick now.

2) added a thick ground cable directly from engine block near distro to battery -ve. Now there is no tik tik tik tik noise in my speakers and pick seems to be a tad bit better. More noticably, car is now pulling above and beyond 4k rpm to some extent finally some results! yay!

Hmm I had NGK Plugs in the car and they were in very good condition but mechanic changed em to ND ones. He said these are better for CNG hmm.

all plugs look same alike but they are not...another common mistake 90% awam do...!!
Did you match with OEM spec before replacing plug

6EY are on colder side.........!! in winters they will be like act cold but in summers specially lahore and other side where temp goes quiet high...they will work good....

messed around with AC amplifire (control module) wiring. Evidently, the guys in shoba bazar cut and spliced a lot of wires. I managed to put them all back how they used to be. However, I cant wire up the compressor side. Trouble!

From old grip going to compressor, there're 5 wires going there. New compressor accepts only 3: one for AC clutch and 2wires for compressor rpm sensor (my guess). Now, how to wire which to which, I have no idea. HELP PLEASE!

I am very much sure that the Black&white wire on the stock wiring will go to the lone AC clutch wire. What about the other two wires coming from the compressor? how to wire them to the stock wiring having 4 leftover wires?

I got my A/C wired up today. We installed the original Vacume thing to idle up when a/c is turned up though these electrition hot wire the Idle control valve but i told him not to do it so bought this vaccum. Bought this for 16 Valve engine for 300Rs also bought circuit opening relay for future fuel pump installation

Though ECU dont know A/c is turned on all its know is vaccum is low and some load on engine so via idle control it idle up the RPM.

For now i will use this setup maybe later when Xulfiqar can guide us again in simple terms how to wire up with relay and without a/c amplifier
