The use of Iridium is only to increase the service life, that is the only thing even claimed by the manufacture denso in this case. And since the service intervals of our cars are not the same as abroad due to really harsh driving conditions and the way we maintain our vehicles with cheap spares, there is absolutely no point of using an expensive plug for very long service life. Just put in a simple copper tip and throw it away after 25K if you feel like, even after three such iterations you might not reach the cost that you would incur for iridium which are utterly useless in this case. All the thing claimed by here by the change of plugs are baseless, maybe the genius also got a fresh oil change when he changed the plugs and then calimed meri to gari badal gayi yar :-)

The following are stock plugs for a vitz 1KR-FE engine :
DENSO K20HR-U11
NGK LFR6C-11
BOSCH FR7KCU

I have a personal inclination towards NGK although I am aware that denso came as the OEM ones in vitz

Copper is a better conductor than iridium. It also dispels heat quicker than iridium. The bad thing is copper corrodes earlier than iridium. That means copper's life is less. Iridium melts at very high temperature and avoids corrosion at it's best. It is known to be the most corrosion resistant metal even at 2000 degree centigrade.

If in same condition, normally both type of plugs perform same but copper has a minute chance to perform better due to it's better conducting capabilities but difference will be almost negligible for single spark produced.

In summary:
If someone wants longer maintenance intervals; one should opt for iridium. Otherwise copper is the best!

Now coming to the 1 litre vs 1.3 litre discussion, a bigger engine in the same chasis (and all other factors kept same e.g. driving habits) means that it would need to be pushed less for the same amount of output hence more economical. So there is nothing to be surprised about if the 2SZ-FE are getting a better mileage then the 1KR-FE, the idea that we have in mind that a bigger engine consumes more fuel is because we have seen them in bigger cars. Its not the same when the same car is in question with an economy engine, if you can then try to get the 1.3 litre version as its worth it.

+1. I have mentioned it many times that average depends on myriad of factors and one of them is quantity of weight in ride. People buy 660 CC rides to save fuel and drive them with all the family (five or six persons) at a a time The load increases engine RPMs and devastates the whole concept of buying a small car and saving fuel.

About the tyre size, 195s in a car that has such tiny engines :-S really ??? It would make sense if its a vitz with a 1NZ-FE but it surely is a totally wrong decision with the smaller engine variants. It should ideally be kept on 165s (of course with higher profiles) but since those tires are not available in the local market for 14 inch wheels, 175 is the max these cars should be getting. Anything above that is just wrong, its a small car with a small engine that needs a small tire.

+1 for 1.0 vitz.

But 1.3 and above vitz has been released with 185's officially buy Toyota. Check the following figure, I have taken it from japanease vitz manual.

Here three RIM styles are being offered by toyota with two tyre sizes in rides with 1.3 2SZ-FE, 1.3 2NZ-FE, and 1.5 engines. And they have 15 inch rim in it :) So, they are officially giving 185/60 R15 and 165/70 R14 rims in vitz. This means they will not harm the suspension or mileage at least in 1.3 vitz.

Can you see the mileage being advertised? wow! haina? Kabhi achieve hoi? Even 1.5 ki 16 km/L plus hay. LoL.

This also tells that 2SZ-FE engine has better mileage than 2NZ-FE.

Wow! it's a real big tire Looks good though. Your ride's ground clearance would be great plus due to larger profile they would be very comfortable too. But the size is a bit too big as I mentioned earlier. It might have bad affects on suspension.

1) What is a package: Our brother ahamid gave the answer in this thread. I am just quoting him directly from his post.

"Package-B" (165/70R14 tyres with no wheel cups, non-retractable side mirrors, simple keys w/o remote control, only 02 speakers, no vanity mirror, no restraining board in front passenger seat, back seat fixed, only available in base colors)

"Package-F" (165/70R14 tyres with wheel cups, retractable side mirrors, remote control key, 04 speakers, 01 vanity mirror, restraining board in front passenger seat, back seat adjustable, available in all colors)

Like grade 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, 4.5 etc. Better the grade better is the car. The grade is decided on number of repaint pieces, accidents, mileage and inspection reviews.

The 33000 Mileage is a very common mileage in the vitz found here. Mostly this mileage is tempered. How can you believe that a car released in 2006 has 33000 mileage after 7 years? and almost all vitz? Have you seen the mileage on export certificate? Please ask the dealer from whom you are buying the car regarding genuine japanease papers. It should contain a certificate:

You can clearly see that this certificate has all the required information. It has all the reported inspections of the vehicle.

The final mileage is written on export certificate:

This certificate tells that the mileage was 96,500 in oct 2009 when the car was exported.

Brother Japanease govt initiated a project few years back to provide subsidies and pursue customers to buy fuel efficient and environmental friendly cars. Every car manufactured in japan is inspected and rated by government. These are the government ratings.

The green sticker means that this car has improved Fuel Efficiency by 20%.

The blue sticker grades it for environmental friendly. More stars more environmental friendly. Here "75" means "Emission Reduced by 75%".

Toyota Vitz Cruise Control - 212047

Brother I emailed them a year ago right when I purchased my vitz. I asked them if it can work with JDM SCP-90. In reply their representative warned that they have never installed and tested it with JDM vitz. The circuit diagrams might vary and they do not take any responsibility of malfunction during driving or installation.

At that time I thought, if it fails, it will be a waste of money and may cause some other damages too. So I refrain from it.

Any hard and strong pakwheeler brother can try it Apni to himat nahi hoi company ka jawab sun ker. LoL.

Some good tech guy needs to compare circuit diagrams of EU version and JDM version of vitz. If they are dead same, I dont think there should be the issue. Note: I email this to the company and asked them help in diagram comparison. But this time they simply didnt reply

Bro I must tell you one more thing. The car should get registered within three months (I think it is three, cant remember clearly) after landing at port in Karachi If it does not the government put fine on it for late registration. The fine continues to grow as the registration process is delayed. Please do check the import year and month. If it is very old then registration fine might take all the worth out of it.

By the way, Package U is an awesome package!

hmm brother its a good question. Pata kerna paray ga. I have no idea. I remember that my car was probably three months late and I had to pay around 3000 Rs. extra. But I am not sure. Baat purani ho gayie. I will have to check it before giving a final verdict.
