Engine rebuilt 2E

Recently got the engine of my ee90 Rebuilt.

It was partialy rebuilt. The engine was decreasing little bit oil and also the power was not there.

The pistons were of max size already so only put new rings. the old rings were i dont know why looked like of a smaller size. Put new TP rings the compression ring is of steel.

1 - Changed rings
2 - New Valves
3 - All seals jans new
4 - New Water pump
5- All engine foundations are changed.

Kharcha around 16k.

u just got the car? so it means the engine has been rebuilt couple of times(as the pistons r of max size)
with AC ring job wont last more then 1 year or 1.5 max i think
rebuilt is neatly done

We had a plan of changing pistons as well but the pistons were not badly worn or we would have changed them as well. Mechanic showed me the rings and how tigh they were fitting in cylinders and cylinder was also not cut. Its just the previous builder didnt put proper rings and also didnt change the valves.

For normal user my engine was fine bcoz it was eating very little oil over longer period of time

So as far as my mechanic he says this rebuilt should last 3 years. Lets see..

And please guide me too as am new in twin cities. I just bought an Alto VXR-2005, a month a go. Its almost 167k driven and its Engine is giving me some issues regarding:

1- Missing.
2- Top Speed/Decrease Pick.
3- Ignition Timing (Short when cold/Long when hot).

I have checked, there is no smoke, or decrese in oil level.

Tried to fine tune the Gas/Petrol several times but of no use.

Please recommend a good and reliable Engine Expert in Rwp/Isb who can sincerely guide me.

Please do mention his Location along with his number.

Others are also requested to mention some reputed 'Engine Experts" in Rwp/Isb region.

I Would Still Say Its Better To Swap Rather Than A Rebuild....!!
Try Not To Run Car On CNG Till 1000kms....And W/o Extra Load On Engine Like A/C And Power Steering pump....!!
Once Rings Get All Settled....Get It On CNG And Put Things One By One.....!!

I also tried to swap same 2 E engine but the engine i liked it was for 70000 Rs yes hehe. 4A or 5A were cheap around 40. 2E is still got some serious market even my old engine is going for around 18.

Swap was on my mind, I also spoke to you about swaping but the kind of swap i wanted the cost was very high. I wanted as original as it can get and not the problems usualy people face.

So i am trying to buy some time u kno so i can save enough money for a good swap.

for 1st 300 KM i used it on petrol, Well car completed 700 KM and its on CNG now allowed by the Mechanic :p.

Its fine now can easily touch 120 or 130. and also with good pickup.

The rebuilt was done nicely i only went back to my mechanic for a cam shaft seal leakage that was also not seal leaked but the oil was going throw tappit cover.

So finally you re build your engine well it good and en comical to as compared to 4A or 5A
we have the same 2E but is the very bad condition our cng average to low under 100 km per cylinder
but we swap 4AFE

JDM i think our mechanics can handle till ring change.
full engine overhaul involves to many things and is un certain by all means.

Vaqas so my friend and fellow pakwheelers got a quote of 28k for complete overhaul of 2E. makes sense?as u got a ring job in 16k

Hash 28 make sense i mean i got few rates and they are.

New standard pistons, 2800 Japanese
New Complete seals and jans kit genuine 4100, japanese 2700, Chinese 1100
Pressure plate and clutch plate, 4500
Clutch bearing around 1400
timing bearings will be arouind 1700
Vavles were around 2700
Water pump if i rem wil be around 2500, GMB Japanese
Oil Pump will be also around 2500,

Mechanic takes around 3500 and Kharad guy will take around 3 for new bores and all.
Plus oil change

So add all this up and it will touch 28k, The thinking is if your going for a overhaul than everthing will be changed to new one so the car can be trouble free for 4 to 5 years.

I trust what my mchanic do i mean he is just like me perfectionist he will not be satisfied with some thing less :p. And he knows if there is a small prob i wont ignore it and come back to him so

BTW i was not having any prob on cng average which was close to 160 KM Local with 55 KG and now i feel its improved i will confirm this.

So how's the oil consumption and the power of the engine now? It should be improved after all the work done.

VCheng, So far with highway usage and in city driving with ac in this very hot weather there is no oil consumption at all

I dont like adding oil or water to my car every now and than. so i am happy both things are sorted now

Power is improved but i still think this engine on cng (15% power loss) and with ac on (another 20% gone) feels under powered for me :p. But on petrol the drive is good.

Sad i cant afford petrol everyday.

hey vaqas1 i have a question for you.

i have the same engine 2E in my rolla.
You see the pipe attached to the nozzle on the right on the engine head cover? Iv had to block it since it takes air from that pipe at idle and makes idling very very rough.

Does your car do the same? Could you plz check coz i need to compare mine to something similar to get an accurate assessment of what is going wrong where...

Hmm well i guess that is PCV Valve dont block that it will cause all sort of problems for your engine. If you block this the common problems will be rough idling, Poor performance, Poor patrol/gas mileage.

hmm yes i did block that valve. AFTER blocking it the car is idling well. before blocking it, it was misfiring a lot esp. on petrol

and yes its the complicated carb with lots of hoses coming out of it from everywhere....actually if you can post pics of which vac hose is going where on ur engine then im sure i can tally it on mine too...

Ahsan i got the simple carb, The advantage is its easy to adjust this carb and gives better mileage. this comes in indus xe corolla.

Try changing that valve dont block it.
