We all love to wear cotton here in Pakistan but it is mostly avoided in such trips especially as baselayers/undergarments. Another common mistake to be avoided is eating spicy karahis and half cooked BBQ just before leaving into wilderness. Human waste should be buried deep and away from water courses. Burn all plastic items or other trash that you do not intend to carry back and make sure to turn off the fire properly before leaving, please do not leave behind plastic bottles/bags
Some of the items that you may like to carry are as follows:
Whistles,
waterproof torches,
lantern,
ropes,
foldable shovels,
multitools (such as swiss knife)
small saw/axe,
waterproof fire makers,
maps, compass, GPS
Sleeping mats,
sleeping bags (I found a tennier industries sleeping bag from lunda (US army)
down jacket (it gets quite chilly at night in open)
proper waterproof trekking shoes (mid cut/ankle high) uncomfortable shoes will make your life a living hell in wilderness
walking pole/stick, two bamboo poles can also be used as stretchers in case of need
Parka/rain coat
stove, utensils (light daygchee), egg container, water container (bottle)
sunglasses, sun cap, UV cream
first aid kit, with medicine for stomach ailments, anti biotics, motion sickness, alcohol swabs, sutures and so on
floor mat, chittai
and you are good to go
