So I've been talking to mega motorsports they've installed it in 2016 - 18 Oriels (White meter only) they said that in the "red meter" civics it can't be installed for some reason they say honda atlas removed that option, I'm going to go for an ambient cluster soon so let's see I'll update you guys if it works

For the white meter cars they said it was a simple plug and play, just requires coding that key to the car and it works as oem

This is an off-topic question but how many types of car covers are there? I wish to get one for my civic, which is yet to be delivered to me, in advance. I do not wish to spend an extra ordinary amount of money on the car cover.

But use then if you have to drive car once or twice a week otherwise it is of no use

Btw, R18 engine in civic has been coming since 2006, right? Has Honda made any sort of technical or mechanical changes within the engine over the years?

8th gen. had R18A1 while 9th and 10th gen. got R18Z1, difference in compression ratio i think.

According to Wikipedia, R18A1 has 10:5:1 compression ratio with 139 bhp and R18Z1 has 10:6:1 compression ratio with 143 bhp.

Hello All

So well known steering rack issue!

My 2017 civic is having problem - 17K driven only - and is now out of warranty.

Quality claim is already raised a year back but no timelines or anything is being given. All they say is there is a list of quality claim before me to address so wait is only option.

I have 3 options now - can anyone please guide? Remember in mind - i intend to keep this car for 2 more years - and this is my daily use car:

1- I read somewhere that Honda is also repairing the issue. Is this true? Any user who got this repaired? If so, how much did it cost and how reliable is it?
2- If i go for new one on my own, how much will it cost? stock availability?
3- Wait for quality claim - which i think is just a lollypop for consumer to stay clam!

What if i leave it as is without Kalam as well. Will it catch rust??

P.S; Honda guy is not recommending Kalam and suggesting to keep as is - claiming it wont catch rust.

Kalam will be fine what doubt you have with kalam ? it wont catch rust its not that deep but its good for looks n rust prevention as well.
If you can post a pic from little distance it would be helpful to suggest

There is a registration cost calculator at Islamabad excise website. Reg cost is two percent of invoice price, 4500 income tax, 200 Rs professional tax, some 1500 smart card fee and 1300 Rs number plates fee.

If it has been raised by 3S as Quality claim then pursue it by calling Honda 9lant directly. . You need to consistently pursue it.

New would cost around 80k

Yes people have replied by by application of grease. This is from a good mechanic . You may ask 3S. It would cost around 20k

I may be wrong but from what I remember, new steering rack is North of Rs.175k.
Also, from personal experience, please call the honda factory helpline. My quality claim was pending for more than 10 months and a couple of calls there helped arrange the replacement in 2 days. The staff is very supportive.

Yes. Some 6-8 months back, i got price for approx. 225K including installation but again, it were not readily available and were asking for advance payment with tentative delivery of a month.

I have a visit due in next couple of week. Will check status of my claim and then will follow-up directly with Honda with hope it works.
