AoA All,
I have gone through this entire thread & found it very useful for the less experienced. I m posting for the first time as I need some advise in purchase of the new civic. I m an unemployed housewife, so obviously I don't submit any tax returns. My father, who resides in USA will be sending me the funds to buy the civic. I have heard that these days FBR is very strict in sending notices to everyone who is buying a new car. The car will be in my name but I'm a non-filer, as I am unemployed & have no personal source of income. My husband is bit concerned as he thinks such expensive purchase as a non-filer can land me in trouble with FBR. My question is that can I justify the purchase of car to FBR with funds coming through a foreign remittance?
I have a PKR bank account, but if I get the remittance in that, I will get the bank conversion rate which is quite less than the open market rate. So can I open a USD bank account & get the remittance in that account & later convert that amount to PKR from open market, & justify this whole thing to FBR?
Any help / advise will be greatly appreciated.
