I'm assuming the above AVG is with ECO ON,and how much difference does turning on ECO mode make?

Well, when I turn the eco off I get absolutely careless and quite frequently give it a heavy foot. That brings it between 9.5-10

Eco should be kept on or off for 1st 1k km?

Doesn't really matter much. As per the manual there are 2 main things to be taken care of during first 1000km

1. Sudden acceleration as parts tend to synchronise specially drive train like transmission and its coupling with the engine.

2. Avoid unnecessary hard braking during first 300km and the same should be followed for every brake pad replacement.

Another thing is over speeding in this period. Now this speed concept has no theory behind it but just a myth according to which, any part or bolts which might have stayed loose or get loose during this initial period if usage after assembly need safe driving so if God forbid anything goes wrong it can be controlled in a lower speed. Though cars are checked for such things but still. And tightening of suspension and bolts is exactly one of the main things they do at 1000km service. The engine itself isn't much in harm's way during this period. Its the compatibility, adjustment and coupling of all mechanical parts which adjusts a bit initially and needs care in this period. So rough use is preferably to be avoided.

Wd eco on....my oriel which is two weeks old is gvng 11 km on highway.....just did 700km...v.much satisfied

I have an insurance and registration related query.

The car is booked on my fathers cnic because the payment has to be made from his account.
1- is it compulsory to insure the car in his name. Because he does not have a drivers license. Would it be needed for insurance?
2 - if the car is transferred on my name then what would be the cost + tax for non filer? (1.8 oriel)

1. The insurance has to be in the name of same person whose name is there on registration book. And No it isn't necessary for the owner to have a driving license for insurance claim. The terms and conditions of insurance clearly say "any person holding a valid driving license is entitled to drive the car" meaning if God forbid you need a claim you can always put your license or even any xyz license and say this person was driving the car at that time. Insurance is done at registration title and nic not license.

2. On a second transfer I think WHT is 19k for filer and along with transfer etc it will cost a total of 25k

As per my knowledge it is not necessary that the cnic and payment account should be of the same person....if you wanted to have it on your name you could have provided your cnic at the time of booking instead of your father.

Color is a personal choice...Best way to select which color to take is to see different color civics side by side... that is possible in showroom but due to lighting and zero meter condition, the color you will select may not look the same it will be on roads with normal maintenance.

When I visited Honda showroom, fortunately all colors were present there and the color which to me was looking the best among all was Modern Steel Metallic - it has great class... next best were Black and White.

In my office parking lot, there are Silver, White and Modern steel metallic Civic Oriels... The Silver in Civic Oriel looks too ordinary and dull compared to the other two. Modern steel is good, but when that car is dusty, the look is not that great - plus in sunshine, it does not look as good as when the car is indoors or in the night. The all weather color is White - which looks good in all lighting/sunshine and car condition. If I have to buy a Civic now I'd go with White - even though it is most common. If I'd be able to keep my car polished/fully clean all the time, then Modern Steel.

I own Modern steel metallic but with the passage of time i started liking the white....the huge black trims with black sunroof looks awesome on white....but yes white is the most common color on roads...silver and MS both are the most decent and executive....rest its purely your choice...

I dont know why they refused that coz i personally did that...i paid the first booking amount through my account...then the balance payment was done by a different account with no issue...n e ways since its already been done so useless to talk now..
