Tested Philips LEDs and compare them with some Chinese LEDs side by side in day light and in dark room. Unfortunatly I did not have Lux meter to measure light intensity but visually brightness was almost equal to most of chinese LEDs and even Cree XHP70 wins over Philips by looking as chips using black polarized glasses.

But then I used them inside Civic OEM headlights, adjusted angle and results were amazing. The real difference in Chinese and Philips LEDs is light output pattern (as claimed by Philips on their website) These throw light in uniform pattern so light on the road in front is way better than Chinese LED when using in the car.

Earlier I was using P70 Cree XHP70 chip light from aliexpress in low beam projectors and this bulb was having more brightness than philips upon looking with naked eye but once used inside housing light output of Philips is much better than before.

Happy with the upgrade.

Is there a way to change the spectrum of this head unit?

A very strange looking beam pattern. I have never seen such a pattern before, looks like it will cause glare on low beam.
I have Photum bulbs in my Civic, they also use Philips ZES CSP chips and mate you gotta see the beam pattern. It's better then the OEM Halogens.
I'll upload pics here, I have lumen meter too , wish u had one we could've compared.

I can see the rectangular outline of the airbag on the passenger side dashboard especially in the sunlight. Had the same problem in the 9th gen civic. Anyone else noticed this?

That's a very strange beam pattern. Are you sure the bulbs were adjusted correctly?

Thats right, I did not have enough time this eve to adjust things properly. Will try to adjust more tomorrow.

Anyway camera may be focusing on high and low lights points too much thats why it seems like this in pics but in real it looks almost uniform.

I looked directly at high beam and it does not glare. As in the beam pattern it does not make any focused spots. This is what philips claims also, if true.

Sir atleast I have never heared about number plates stolen.. Normally there are incidents of plates damaged in accident or fallen away.....but in punjab there is no issue of duplicate plate issuance....last I remembered they charged me 800 Rs for duplicate in 2016 and in a week time handed over. This is no comparassion of trouble when stopped by police or worst to all if stopped in cantt area....

Bro you mayn’t have heard about it but I have personally seen them being stolen.
Well I didn’t make these plates because that I was afraid of them being stolen, I made them because I like changing plates off/on.
And yeah you are right its against the law but I ll still be ok with it even if I have to pay the fine.

Turbo is not a good news. Those not facing issues are lucky.

Below is the pattern of only low beam ON and how it will make glare ?? while this pattern matches with genuine Halogen bulbs pattern:smile:

Problem with Chinese LEDs is that they reduce their light/brightness overtime due to bad quality chips used.
