Even Hardtop Civic sells at the right price, its not like someone will offer you the amount of an Alto equivalent when you sell it. Hardtop Civic is not a bad deal at all if price gap of a similar mileage Oriel of same year is 2-3 lakh. It will sell in future as well if you buy it at a good price. People are still selling Hardtop Civics and they will still keep selling them. Its a myth when buying brand new from company which is valid considering market value and value for money. But a used already depreciated car wonât go much further worse.
Regardless of the myths for the sake of saying them by masses and market and dealers, everything has a worth. And always there are buyers for even the odd most cars in the market. This is still a Civic not some old Ford Anglia which wonât sell and you will have to hand it over free to a scrapyard to get rid of it
I had a Hardtop late 2012 9th Gen Prosmatec and I promise I sold it in 45 minutes for 19 lakh in 2016 when even Oriels of same time were available in same bracket almost
So like I suggested earlier, if the price is right: go for it. Just the presence, feel, drive and category of 1.8 Civic even the base model is apart from a 1.6 Corolla. Buy it for yourself please and donât consider what masses and dealers want to say about its resale factor because at the right price everything has a good resale regardless of what Janta thinks
