Exactly why I said it was directly painted because it didn’t bother to stick properly in these areas to come off this easily. Check the pictures again from the post and it is clear that’s exactly what happened and why the paint came off exposing the metal to catch corrosion. Just like you have said.
And you are right rust isn’t covered under warranty. One of the owners was told by 3S the same thing when he took his car for this issue.
