I think the turbo modders in pakwheels can clarify whether there was a knock sensor in the old one and if it's as I remember (not in X turbo) I'd say it's most likely the knock sensor doing its job. The Americans reporting those issues were probably on bad fuel cause otherwise everyone else would be reporting those numbers too.
Our local regular fuel is very low octane as tested by a few pakwheels members. I can even notice the difference with hi octane on a regular 1.3 honda city. I assume even our hi octane isn't good enough for the rs for max boost, the power enthusiasts might have to combine both hi octane and octane boosters.
Or maybe the ECU is programmed to cut boost for the first few thousand Kms for break in period. Unlikely though cause if that was the case, the international honda enthusiasts would've already found that out.
