please do check out the wind noise issue on the XI gen civic if your ok with that or not , also road noise and tire noise is alot in this gen I guess same as last gen.
For Elantra 2 things which prevented me from shifting it has DCT (personal choice) and no rear arm rest (I use driver alot)

I will be driving it by myself. I like civic, but the issues I've been reading related to noise, quality, and steering are pulling me back. Checked out elantra at the dealership, it looked really good but I'm not sure whether it will be interesting enough to drive after a year or 2.

Comparatively Elantra has a smaller set of iasues. You should give it a try or wait for Sonata hybrid. IMO hybrids are the way to go.

No Auto dimming mirror is a set back. Rear arm rest can be compensated with a pillow

Just buy a sonata. There is no comparison. The moon roof looks great. Sonata has more cabin space. RS guys just talk about rolling torque which is ridiculous.

Dont forget that civic was not sold in middlewast because of accord and only sonata can compete with it. Civic RS only have ADAS functions. if you dont use them, forget it. The interior of civic RS is also not very appealing. I would vouch for elantra hybrid or sonata 2.0 anytime over civic RS. yes, elantra hybrid is also placed a bit above the required price tag but still way better then civvvac.

I would highly prefer 2.5 one over 2.0. He had a test drive of RS, would definitely hate the performance of 2.0.

2.5 requires hi octane , and fasces issues like limp mode due to it , where as 2.0 is trouble free (tire bubble issue was fixed in later models I believe )

I would say go for Elantra hybrid. Sonata is a risky purchase considering it could be discontinued anytime in future. Sonata is discontinued by Hyundai. They are not working on its next gen model.

So a superior car shouldn't be bought because it's discontinued in ANOTHER country and a clearly inferior car should be bought because it's recently launched?

Giving sincere advice is a type of Sadaqah. I gave advice based on what I have done in this situation.
Elantra hybrid is not an inferior product by any means. Here's why I would avoid D-Segment Sonata in my case.

• Discontinued by Hyundai
• Too big for my needs
• Too big to driving in our city
• Fuel guzzler
• Crappy power to weight ratio hence bad acceleration compared to Elantra hybrid and Civic. Elantra hybrid has the best in class acceleration (taking in reference to C-Segment sedan competition in Pakistan).
• Sonata 2.5 has lot of known issues

civic has its own issues too.

if sonata is big and you are stuck with c segment that opt whatever u like to live in after experiencing both civic and elantra.

look for better cabin space and better seats and feel if u get stuck in traffic. if you travel on motorways look at both accordingly
