Go to an Audi dealership and ask them if they have a A4 headlight in stock and if not, how long will it take to arrive. 2 crore Hyundai may or may not be worth it, but it's a heck of a lot better value than an A5.

Nothing beats local CKD cars in after sales support. Both in terms of price and delivery of parts.

Heard bad stories about players like Hyundai too, as their stock of parts isn’t to write home about ..

If we’re talking about value at 1.7 crore to 2 crore range, only Toyota is giving vehicles with top notch local support and no parts issue. Perhaps Honda too but not sure which of their CKD car is in this range.

My 2 cents in the whole CKD vs import debate is that while showrooms may need time with their part sourcing (as compared to players like Toyota), you have a source to get official parts without worrying about anything. This has barely ever been the case unless we're talking about Shahnawaz/Audi. (Not including Dewaan because I only ever heard horror stories). Another big advantage of CKD cars though is that you are more likely to find mechanics that would be familiar with the car in comparison to some imports.

Before the N-line Sonata was announced I would usually say to people that I cannot see any German car compete with the Sonata in terms of its price range, value and size. The A4 generation Audis that could be bought in a similar price are cramped and look dated from the inside (infotainment screen etc). The A5 is more pricey but still didn't feel much more modern on the inside other than the ambient lighting. Performance wise both were similar. The Mercedes cars that were close to the 1.2 to 1.4cr ranges were all at least 7 years old, so I would prefer the more modern vehicle.

At least for Audi/Shahnawaz, I think sourcing parts wouldn’t be an issue. They’ll take as much or maybe even less time than something like Hyundai or even Honda’s 8 months time for steering rack in the above case.

But anyway those who want German sedans at around 2 crore mark will not settle for a Hyundai no matter what the argument. .

If someone is happier with something like a W205 then by all means, I hope they go for it. But there will be a space for people to explore something in that price range that has loads more power and as a CKD might give them extra assurance. But it definitely will not fly off the racks like a Haval HEV

i dont think a local mechanic would better understand a n line hyundai sonata instead of a older merc or audi..plus the merc w205 would look and feel better then a hyundai ..i agree the hyundais going to be loaded with all the features but at that price range you sure do have attractive options .. plus lets see the buyer class that their targeting because majority in this price point go for 4by4 suvs or trucks like fortuner gr or revo or add bit more and go for merc e class or toyota crown.

Audi and Merc for the Show Shaw value and to flex in front of friends/General public which the sonata fails to do , no ones gonna think your successful owning a Hyundai (IN PAKISTAN) lol That is why its not even selling at its current price point.

I've extensively spent time with a C180 w205 and the only thing that it really excels at compared to even a 2.5L is the suspension. Huge huge fan of their suspension and drive, it really feels like the cars are hugging the road. At the end of the day, the back seats are cramped and the costly maintenance and parts are something to think of. By no means am I expecting everyone to prefer a Sonata over a C class, but there is a place for it in the market.

Need a suggestion guys, new civic oriel or JolionHEV.
Dil saying Civic mind Jolion.
I understand they both different segment but which one is better value for money and good investment,

If majority of your drive is in city and you rarely go out of city, then go with Jolion HEV. HEVs have good savings in city driving.

If you drive mostly on motorways, then better choose Civic for fuel savings and better drive and handling.

If you only drive in city, never go out of city, and have solar at home, the best option is EV like BYD Atto 3 which has same price tag as Jolion HEV. The saving in this case is huge in the long run.
* Right now BYD is not taking any freight charges.
* Minimal registeration cost.
* No yearly token tax.
* Zero to minimal running cost depending on your solar setup.
* The running cost is minimal even if you don't have solar at home and you use a separate meter for charging during off-peak hours.
* Maintenance cost is minimal. You only have to visit dealership once a year or once every 2 years.

My issue with the Civic Oriel is how stripped down it is. For example, no power seats for passenger. If we would compare a Civic RS, which has all the ADAS features, I would say the comparison is more fair. The Civic drives really well, especially on some good tyres. I really do not know how the resale of these Chinese hybrids would hold up though.

If it is strictly Oriel vs JolionHEV then I would say the Jolion is the defacto better buy. With the RS there is some space to think about, but if you could increase your budget, why not just go for a used Sonata 2.5.

Strictly speaking about criteria of “investment”, it’s a Honda so Jolion doesn’t come close. Civic can always be resold and also hold its value.

Features wise Jolion is on paper ahead. But it will be experimenting with a new product in Pak that’s not much on the roads and you don’t know anything about resale either. I wouldn’t experiment with my money as I don’t have too much spare cash.

If it was Haval H6 then I guess it would have been easier to pick Haval as it’s on the roads and selling. But not all variants sell easily.
