Steering fault in 10th and 11th gen civic has nothing to do with warranty. It is a manufacturing fault.
I just got the steering rack changed on my 2017 Civic X from Honda. The car was not maintained from Honda and has clocked 110k kms.
Heres what I did:
1. Service manager said your car is not honda maintained so we cant help you.
2. I told him what do you guys need? his reply was Honda maintainance.
3. I told him car is due for 100k kms maintainance, do it and you can put that in your records and file for claim. Its a win win for both you and me.
4. It worked. Got the steering rack after about 4 months wait.
P.S I have no reference in Honda. Just a mango man.
