To answer @madhouse12 and @xulfiqar: I have tried thick aluminium foil shaped over an upturned cup and placed behind the bulb. That works well for a short time and eventually gets dislodged since it is flimsy. Now I aim to get and old broken rear light from a Toyota or Suzuki or other, cut out a section that does the job. Once that is done, the next step will be to apply the shiny aluminium tape @xulfiqar has mentioned. This tape is already in my tool box:). Hopefully tomorrow I'll go down to the denter shops in my area and pick up a few broken lights (for free) an see what works.
@capsat, your idea was already in my mind. I have been studying the web about how to link up banks of LEDs with diodes and resistors. With that in mind, I bought this array of LEDs as a test to to see if I like the look of LEDs. Unfortunately, I did not. it looks out of place.
I even got this LED "bulb" in the picture below compared to the bulb that fits in the light. The light emitting from the LED bulb was a step back from the amount of light emitting for the conventional bulb. So that was a total failure.
